What skate runs biggest?

Recommended Posts

I found out tonight I can fit my foot into a size 12 ccm skate better than a size 12 bauer skate. I would like a skate that is just a hair larger (than ccm). How do the other skates match up to the ccm's size wise? Are there any that run bigger than the ccm? Is ccm the largest skate? The difference between 12 and 12 1/2 is custom ordering which I really don't want to do, so any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA

If you foot is more fat than long, rebellions are great.

Not if you have a thick foot or a semi-wide heel. I was in tears with my demos.

Have you tried a Bauer 8090 in 12? they seem to run a bit bigger than the vapors.

What model did you demo? I had their original top-end design with the 3d holders. My opinion may be slightly skewed on them since those boots were built to flex every which way with that exterior material they used and the soft padding. My skates proior to trying those were v12s and pfs. If they weren't so overpriced for what you get, I'd love to get my hands on some 7510 boots. Thing I didn't like about the boot myself was the footbed.... It was more or less a thin piece of foam with no arch support whatsoever, but that is an easy fix. It's just interesting you found them so painful. I'd sorta learning the meaning of pain with my synergys. I love the speed gain I get out of them in straightline, but on my left inner ankle right on the tip of the bone I have a hotspot the size of a dime that is brutally painful after awhile. I suppose that's what I get for going from a pure boot to the complete opposite end of the design spectrum,

I had 7510s with Crews on them. They were rep samples and not really meant to see the ice as the holders were not close to straight. The tongue and toecap come together and cut down into the top of my foot. I had to remove the footbed and bake the hell out of the skates to get my foot in them.

I can use a normal A heel in almost any boot but the Rebellion heel was abnormally thin as well. Considering dealer cost is higher on them than a Mission S500 or Kor skate, there is no way I would ever consider them. You would have to have a very specific foot type and not mind the added weight.

For what you get vs what you pay, they are a poor value for sure. What is the kor fit like? I venture an 11d mission pure boot fits me about as well as anything on the market, so that is more or less the type of foot I have.

Kor is similar to the S series. Deeper fit though, that's good for me.

If the CCM fit but you just need a hair larger, why not have the shop stretch the skate to custom the fit. Also, you may want to try the new RBK skates, they are a bit wider in the mid section than regular CCM.

The sports authority probably doesn't stretch skates. I live nowhere near a proshop (I'm just visiting NC). Of easton, graf, nike, and rbk, which one has the longest size 12? I have to make a decision to either buy those skates today before I leave or take my chances ordering some off of the internet.

Nike. Out of Graf, Easton and Nike. I haven't tried the RBK skates, but am sure the Nikes are the LONGEST of those skates mentioned. I'm a 7EE in both Easton and Graf, CCM and Bauer as well, but I am a 6EE in Nike.

RBK skates are different than the Vectors, although very similar. The main difference in fit, is they fit wider in the mid-foot. Won't really have a good feel till they get here and we get a bunch of folks to try them. I should be getting the 8k's ANY DAY NOW, last I checked my order was in the warehouse being picked/boxed, so perhaps Mon or Tuesday.

Isn't CCM suppose to be ½ a size smaller than Graf and Bauer.
