Queen

That would be the man. Great singer in his own right but Freddie Mercury is synonymous with Queen.

I believe the reason why John Deacon decided not to return was cited as "family committments."

Even the Led Zeppelin "reunion" didn't fare too well. I mean you had Page's signature guitar and Plant's signtaure voice and the average non-musician ear couldn't tell that Jason Bonham was on drums (who did do a great job for his late father by the way). But I'm just not so sure there's much interest in Queen anymore as they had their big revival in the spotlight around 1991 when Wayne's World made "Bohemian Rhapsody" a big hit. I remember several bands did a nice tribute to Queen playing their renditions of classic songs at Wembley Stadium.

Best Queen cover I ever heard was by Warrant. They played a dive back home and I was the guy from the station who introduced them. Nice guys, they shared their Corona.

Oh yeah, they did a kick ass version of "We Will Rock You" for the Gladiator movie(not the Russell Crowe flick). I had always wanted a copy of that because I remember that video always being played on MTV (when they played videos). I finally found a Best of Warrant CD with that on there along with quite possibly one of their greatest songs, "Thin Disguise" which was the B-side to the single "Cherry Pie".

Sorry, didn't mean to turn the Queen thread into a Warrant thread... ;)
