TPS sticks question

Recommended Posts

I used the XN10 for 2 months, 1 broke after 3 weeks and the second broke in 4 weeks. I'm in love with this stick, the flex, shaft, curve ( nash = best curve ever), but I got big durability problems. I'm still thinking about buying another one, but I would like to know your durability experience with any TPS stick. I have a Sakic si-core but I can't adjust to it, so I want to stay with TPS. I'm thinking about XN10,R+ or Adrenaline. What do you guys think, durability wise

Thank you guys

I have the XN10 (it's a early pro stock prototype, but... likely not that far off). Great durability in the shaft, and no chunks coming off in the blade. However, what was one a crow-bar like stiff blade, is now rather completely average. While there are no cracks or unbraiding of the graphite weave, it definetely flexes a bit now (complete with a crunchy noise which I can only imagine is the foam inside the blade). This balde, at least, did not have any sort of beam inside of the blade to help stiffen.

Later releases of the XN10 may have improved on this though.

It still shoots well, and is totally serviceable, but the blade does bend in heavy shooting (so have to learn to sort of adjust accordingly). This is after 2 months of constant use.

I had an XN10 last year, when they were first released. I liked it moderately, not nearly as much as most people but what can you do. It broke after a few weeks of usage. In the sticks defense though, the kid who broke it was at least 210.

The early ones(original non-retail graphics) seem to hold up a little better to me but I could be wrong. I would make sure the Adrenaline has a kevlar wrap all the way to teh bottom of the shaft, otherwise I'd go with the R+ or one of the R2 shafts.

Yep..... and that's the one I have/was talking about.

I have a later release too (with the blue XN10 glossy graphics), just haven't used it yet to say whether it is significantly different in any way or not.

I never did like that little blue dab in the logo. Nothing else on the stick is blue, just this one little spot in the middle of the logo that was too busy to read from any distance above 5 feet.

Broke mine after the first 2.5 weeks, got the warr. replacement and it lasted me a whole season. Response + that is.

Response Plus was the only OPS that ever broke on me under warranty (about 3 weeks in)...broke right where the shaft/blade would connect if it were a 2-piece.

I thought the stick felt great shooting/handling of the stick was great but I consider their Nash pattern my ideal curve, so that would be a big factor. I've used Innos/Eastons/Missions on a regular basis and have never broken them in under 2-3 months. But so many factors can go into breakage....
