sticks for off-ice training

Recommended Posts

hi.

so now there's the summer break and i want to practise a lot in the garage/driveway.

i would like to play with my on-ice stick(s) but i dont wanna ruin the blades.

is there any way i can prevent chipping and crackin (on the base) ?

i have an old stick which i can use, its okay for learning the basics but i guess i cant aim with it..

i've no experience with rollerhockey or off-ice things cause im "new" into hockey after ~8 years.

When i played 8 yrs ago i was a child and i wasnt in the need of training between the old and new season ;)

thanks so far.

You could order some roller hockey tiles and make your self a shooting board that way you can use your ice sticks or you can buy this fake ice stuff from peranis for like 25 dollars and you can use your ice sticks on that also.

www.buyahoop.com

There's some indoor tiles on there that I'm assuming is similar to SportCourt but would definitely be sufficient for a small stickhandling surface. Possibly thinking about surfacing part of a basement with it.

I suggest getting one of those stickhandling balls and using an old stick. I use an old Titan ABS for road hockey.

Go buy the cheapest sheet of kitchen flooring you can find, then shoot off of that. You might even find a store that sells that stuff and see if they have leftovers you could get for free or very cheap.
