Standard vs Tapered

Recommended Posts

You can do it as long as the hosel is made of wood. you need to shave/sand down the tenon (the part that inserts into the shaft end).

I've never actually done it with a blade, so I can't speak on the durability or performance of it, But I've made butt ends for broken OPS cut for taper that I flipped anf put a standard blade in the opposite end.

Yea... I've done the same with my Easton Int Synergy... when I bought the shaft off this guy, I didnt realise that it only took Int blades... in th end, i just flipped the shaft and shaved the tenon on some senior wooden stick blades that I had... works great, and I love the whippy 75 flex (even though I'm 6ft tall and 208lbs.

I've gotta think that flipping it would fuck with the flex and kick-point of the shaft. They (shafts) are engineered to have a blade at one end and one end only (unless we're talking about the Inno 'Dual-Kick.')

When I break a blade, I go out and buy a new stick. Performance has a price, and I am willing to pay it.

Did it a while ago - measured a tapered hosel vs. a standard hosel with calipers. Kept sanding both sides until they were almost equal. Didn't shorten the hosel though - I'm not that adventurous.

you should be able to get a Jr. standard blade in the top of that shaft. My friend had an int. synergy and when it broke he did that.

thought about that as well, but the LHS here is real crap...

anyway, I did take a senior blade. WHittled it down a little, then sanded it with a file and sandpaper. inserted the blade into the handle end of the shaft.
