03- green (non grip) if im not wrong

04- blue (non-grip), grey (grip)

05- blue (non grip), grey (grip)

06- grey (non grip), orange (grip)

As for durability i have found these sticks to have poor durability, nice feel and kick point thow until something hits your sticks and snaps in half. And the 06 models the paint peels off like the sl's.

older were silver and were thick grip the new one , orange, has the same grip as the sl, very ''slim'' but im using SL since 2 years now and none never peel. so i think it is durable,

just a bit different.

'04/5 grips were a metallic silver, but not very shiny

'06 non-grips have a chrome finish, similar to the one on the SLs and new SE Elite. Easton's chrome-like finish seems to chip and peel pretty easily, and I've also seen chipped up orange '06 grips.

The nice thing about the '04/05 is that the color is in the materials, NOT painted on, so it doesn't peel.

Durability on the z-bubble grips are very hit or miss... i've had some last 1 week and some last more than a year... the performane is top notch, but i stopped using them because once i started using sticks with rounded edges i couldnt go back to the square feel of eastons... never used the newer ones, only the silver grips, but never had any problems with peeling...

funny side note... i've been getting together all my sticks, and i came across an interesting trio of shafts... i have the first original model of the easton ultra-lite, first composite shaft they ever made with the brownish/yellowish weave. then i have an old greenish/yellowish weave ultra-lite thats about 5 years older than that shaft. and i have a pretty new z-bubble grip shaft. in 10 years, they've dropped 15 grams... not as much as you might guess...

i hated the z-bubbles  those things would snap oh you like crazy. after my last one broke i changed to the tps redlite xn10 and it was the best move i ever made for hockey gear.

The paint peels like crazy. My friend has a grip one, and the knob fell off of the stick because the paint chipped (It was stuck onto the top layer of paint).

It's funny that you guys talk about the crappy durability of the z-bubble. I've owned three, and the only reason I've had to replace them was because I kept growing. I had one of the original green ones for Squirt n' Pee-Wee, and now two blue ones as a Midget, and the things barely show any indication of use. Absolute tanks.

The difference would be that we're talking about the z-bubble grips, which for some reason aren't made as durable as the regular z-bubbles... just look at the shaft. easton says the durability on regular z-bubbles are "9" whereas the z-bubble grips are an "8"... however, i posted that i think the durability on the sticks are hit or miss... some last forever, some last 1 shift...

To put it this way... Z-bubble is the only shaft I'm nervous playing with, useing all other (non-Easton) shafts I've never thought they might break while playing, while infact playing.

i've used my blue Z-Bubble for more than a year in a recreational league. It has been on both the giving and receiving ends of hacks & slashes and is still going strong.

blue... so still not a grip, ipso facto has nothing to do with the durability of a z-bubble grip shaft... this thread is reminding me of how brittle some of my past z-bubbles were...
