    Just saw a picture of these. It’s like Bauer set out to make a very ugly One95 reboot. If you squint it’s like a hybrid between a prototypical Bauer boot and a Mako. Very interested to see these in person.

    I haven’t. The air drying seems to work well but the damage is done regardless. I’ve wondered if the sole plays a part in that.

    In terms of durability, no. But I don’t think I can get the same comfort from Bauer or CCM. Which is a problem when you skate as often as I do. The trade offs are just disappointing when you spend so much on skates, regardless of the brand. But I’m sure all 3 are more concerned with quantity over quality at this point.

    Don’t really have the money to drop 2k at the beginning of the year on skates or I’d definitely do that. My MX3s took the same abuse with no issues for about 8 months prior to the True switch. That’s why I’m considering MyBauer. The injected eyelets and wear patches are small but significant additions. It’s disappointing that True can’t offer similar solutions to common problems.

    As of now it’s my career so I’m on the ice weekly. It’s weekends like last one that hurt (30+ hours on ice between AAA/Junior). But the thing is, I take great care of them. Insoles come out immediately after use and they’re drying directly in front of a fan no later than an hours after each use. Rusting out. Since the foam has compacted within the last 4/5 months, I’ve had to crank the laces around the instep which has resulted in some of them pulling out.

    For the first 6 months I absolutely loved them. If I weren’t doing beer league/youth and only working higher levels I probably wouldn’t have the issues just based on mileage. They fit well and are much easier on the feet for a 4 game set than retail. Other complaint is that they retain water like crazy and depending on how much you sweat, you could be standing in a puddle after a game or two.

    I’ve had my pair for just under a year and my biggest complaint is durability. It’s been awful in my experience. Granted I skate almost exclusively as an official and can sometimes be on the ice for up to 10hrs a day, I take really great care of my skates. The eyelets/tendon rivets constantly come loose. The liner has compacted to almost nothing which has ruined the fit and I’ve got large holes where the tongue rubs the liner near the top two eyelets. Overall pretty disappointed that $1000 skates have a bout a years worth of life. I’d go back to Bauer or try CCM but I’m afraid they can’t replicate the zero negative space fit. Anyone had experience with custom 2X Pros? They looked promising in terms of wrap/ eliminating negative space.

    With the success of True, Bauer could literally rebrand the original Mako and they’d sell like crazy. The latest Vapor and these unreleased Supreme pics are getting my hopes up for an eventual resurrection.

    @Nicholas G I’ll give the liquid tape a try. Do you just cover the entire surface of the Euler? Has anyone had experience with Trues cloth liner? A big issue of mine is that I sweat a lot more than the average person. I’m guessing that liner would be better for moisture mgmt but less durable.

    Anyone else have major eyelet and tendon guard rivet issues? Holder rivets are next by the looks of it. I’m exclusively a linesman and I’ve had mine for 10 months (1000 games give or take). I remove footbeds and fan dry after every use but these skates retain water so much it seems impossible to fix these issues. Also, has anyone here had experience with full custom skates from CCM/Bauer? How was the adjustment back to traditional skates?

    Very useful input. I plan on rebaking just to get an overall better wrap. When I originally baked the skates, I had the tongues (which are very stiff and thick when new) pushed down too far which resulted in extra negative space in the midfoot. Would you recommend a full bake before spot heating or vice versa? If it even matters. I believe the arch problem is to do with too much space rather than not having enough. So I’m thinking I’ll try superfeet or the new CCM insoles.

    Figured. How thick should the tissue be folded to, roughly? 4-6 mm? Don’t wanna push it out too far and have negative space there.

    Both came with the skates. As for pushing out the heel area, should I try the tissue technique or just push it out by hand.

    I’m sure this info is in here somewhere, but I don’t feel like digging through hundreds of pages. I have a few fit issues that I imagine several others have experienced and I’m looking for suggestions. Ive had my Trues for about three months now and have only baked once (would like to try it at home, but I’m weary). The issues I’m having: 1. I have a bump on the outside of both of my heels. It causes significant pain if I skate several games. Should this be addressed by pushing that spot out? 2. I have some pretty severe blisters on both arches. I have noticed that this area runs when I do multiple games (I’m an official), but I had 12 this weekend and it’s left me with two nearly identical 3-inch blisters. Is this a matter of negative space? I’m using the stock 2-piece foot beds. Would switch to a foot bed with stiff arch support address this?

    2 Junior games under my belt which the new wheels. Not gonna go in-depth about all the performance comments, that’s been covered here plenty. I will say that aside from the discomfort you would expect from brand new skates, they were the most comfortable skate I’ve worn. I’m still getting used to the feel and adjusting my mechanics, but it’s been seamless. My biggest issue, the bunionette, seems to have been successfully addressed (knock on wood). Its still a bit early for me to give a verdict, but I’m pleasantly surprised. My concern is with durability. There have been no signs of wear, I can just see the liner having issues as the skate has so little negative space. That being said, if the fit stays consistent and the skates hold up, I can’t see myself ever going back to “traditional” skates.

    The plain laces are required by local officiating organizations. Looks much cleaner to me. I just noticed the gap in the holder. Haven’t seen any player pairs with this holder yet, but it does make sense to streamline. Yep. Aside from some extra glue here and there, the stitching is clean and nothing looks wonky.

    Ok, so I received my skates today, 15 days after getting scanned. I was able to bake them this morning and skate for about 30 minuets at a public session. My first impression has been very good. When I initially inspected the skates, the quality seemed better than some I’ve been seeing online. No major blemishes or sloppiness. They aren’t that much heavier than my MX3s, although I’m just going on feel alone. One thing that was disappointing is that I requested the tan liner 2 separate times, including a note made in the scan. Although it’s not a huge deal, it annoys me that the request was basically ignored after it had been acknowledged by a True rep. Also, I got a carbon fiber splinter from one of the holes on the bottom of the skate, and I’m going to have to sue True for bodily injury and severe trauma.. At some point, I’ll post a full review, but for now I’ll just give my first impressions. I officiate for a living, so as long as these remain comfortable and last, I’ll be happy. As recommended by several posts throughout this forum, I went down a hollow. I knew that was the right call as soon as I stepped on the ice. These skates really do feel different. Coming from MX3s and Makos, I was expecting some kind of middle ground between the two. That was not the case. They feel very unique, but I wouldn’t call them bulky like some. I had some pretty standard new skate discomfort, but they were incredibly comfortable overall. The more I skated, the more I could kinda feel the similarity to the Mako. I’ve never been one to think that a pair of skates can drastically improve skating, but the “connection” to the ice and the energy transfer felt unreal. They’re much too new to say whether or not I’m happy, but I’m optimistic that these will work nicely for me.

    My optimistic side wants this to be true. That, or they took one look at my regular-ish foot and it took about an hour to find a last and make the necessary adjustments. My pessimistic side is worried that in an effort to cut production costs, True is utilizing a team of poorly trained chimpanzees to make their skates. Let’s hope this is not the case.

    So I ordered my pair on 11/5 in DFW. Skates entered production on 11/6 and I just received a notification that they have been shipped. Anyone else find this to be ridiculously quick?
