VERY interesting. Thanks for sharing. Interesting to see the Reebok E-Pro being more forward than the LS2. Would love to see where the CCM SB fits in.
Anecdotal evidence (UW Badger EQM) has the SpeedBlade holder at the same pitch as the LS 2.
Thanks, AfftonDad. This is very interesting stuff.

Carry on, folks, don't mind me.
edit: I like this forum. I like most of the people here. I wasn't attempting to call anybody out for their trigonometric experiments.

The difference is negligible, unless you're comparing youth skates to a size 14 boot. If it helps, think of it as +1, +2 and not in actual trigonometric degrees. This isn't structural engineering, it's a rough estimation and has been the industry standard for decades.
He just explained they're not actual degrees. Why are we photoshopping hypotheticals?

I had my CXN steel cross-ground before sharpening the first time and have great edges.

That's the rumor.

Yeah, it's bizarre but I love them. I'm buying 2 extra sets in case easton goes belly up.
-
I searched through the thread, but couldnt find a definite answer: Does the LS edge holder line up perfectly with the cxn holder? Im trying out a pair of APX2's and its cheaper for me to just try out the skate with a cxn holder than getting the steel profiled.
Yes, the holes line up perfectly. Just had some CXNs put on my nexus skates.

Well, the saga continues. I've been off my skates for 2 weeks due to ankle issues from my boots. The tendon on the outside of my ankles has become inflamed from the way the boots rub on my ankles and where my weight falls when I lean in turns. My ankles develop sore spots for 4-5 days after each skate session, so I'm taking some time off of these skates in hopes I can recover and haven't done any serious damage.
These skates were supposed to be a cure-all for my odd foot problems, now I'm noticing they have more issues, just new ones in different spots.
-
I couldn't even get mine on before molding them. I undo the top 3 eyelets to put them on or take them off.
Same here. Heating them was a revelation.
-
Elite Bamboo Compression sock. Very tight fitting and smooth, so I'm a bit concerned.
-
Have you tried doing this?
I'm going to pick up a heat gun tonight and try bending it out. I have some gel pads I could adhere to the inside of the boot, too. That rub is through a sock, too.

So, this just started happening:
-
Scott can have them sharpened yes.
-
I hope it comes out satisfactorily.

I'm really sick of the entitlement of the people on this board.
I'm out of this thread.

Asinine? Me? The very definition of asinine is posting complaints to a forum before the manufacturer has a chance to even respond.Don't be asinine. The analogies are relevant. The skates don't meet the quality standard of "New without defects." You, the consumer, have a right to know that the standard was not met despite my disposition: The glue seepage doesn't bother me enough to warrant a return. However, as a consumer (satisfied or not), I feel obligated to notify potential consumers, who are thinking about buying the skates, that in my experience and in my pictures I've provided above, the quality control is a bit lacking (especially for a high-end, expensive product).
Whether or not these defects will affect the durability of the boot, only time will tell. But... there is an expectation and industry standard... As a consumer buying a brand new product, you expect it to be free of manufacturing mistakes; else, the product will be considered defective.
I went through something similar with my skates but at least I had the tact to let Scott address the issues before I got all butthurt on the internet.

I'm pretty sure the skates will improve my ability to dangle on the ice as well as pick up chicks off the ice. They may allow me to drink more beer following games as well.
You are 100% correct on 66% of those assumptions.
-
Or, you could e-mail Scott and ask him if this will become an issue/how he will fix it rather than making ridiculous analogies about it on a forum full of people who can't actually do anything about it.
Ask Scott what kind of solvent should be used to clean up the glue. I guarantee he'll have a satisfactory answer for you.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say for the beer leaguers on this board, the skates will NOT come unglued, will NOT fall apart, and will NOT spontaneously combust as some of you fear.

Thanks for those photos. I was thinking of doing the white backs like that, but seeing them done that way I think I'm just going to go all black instead. Don't get me wrong, they're still gorgeous... the white just isn't for me.
All the cool kids get white backs...

Scott will fix any issues you have, should you run into a problem. He remade my boots after I had a toe box issue and he covered it under warranty.
-
Very disappointed with the styling of the Nexus skate line. Looks like I'll be close out shopping for 1000s...
-
What size are those pro tacks??
-
I was told by Scott to stand with my knees bent and aligned over my toes, so that's what I did.
-
Standing during tracing yes.

It sounds crazy, but while the boot itself doesn't get any longer, the heel fit changes so much on a bake it will put your foot further back in the boot. I went down a half size in demo makos and probably could have gone down another half.
