I probably would prefer the mx3 tongue myself because I heard you can change the stiffness in the tongue. There is a ton of forward flex in the vapor series and wish it was more stiffer in the tongue in my vapor skates.

That's the beauty of the 1S tongue, pro-esque felt thickness but with the customizable forward flex inserts. Best of both worlds.

If you are ordering from Ice Warehouse and wear a half size order a size up. (If you wear 7.5 order 8.) The sizing info on the site is wrong. They say size 7 fits 7 up to 7.5. In reality 7 fits 7 and you can trim it down to fit 6.5.

I had just updated the sizing info before hopping on here. It's all good now.

How's the volume of the super tack skates? Thats my biggest problem, the tacks right now have plenty for me just hoping these do as well.

When I wear Supremes, I have to lace them outside-in to gain a little more volume to avoid dreaded lace bite. These Super Tacks didn't give me any issue at all, they should be able to fit the majority of feet.

I'm also wondering about this, current Ribcor's are falling apart.Since the super tacks is a 360 fit shouldn't it just the with of any players foot after being molded?

wonder if they need to be heat moulded too?, don't really like doing that.

Technically the RibCor's are built on the narrowest last but since it's a more flexible material, it tends to open up for wider feet. That being said, I went from a RibCor D to a Super Tacks EE without too much of an issue. I would definitely recommend heat molding them regardless, it makes a significant difference especially in the forefoot.

The RPDs that are on sale are a size 6.5. Inlinewarehouse's information contradicts itself, on the product page it says size 1 down from shoe size and on the generic "size chart" page, under Alkali it says a size 6.5 would work for my shoe size.

    Any feedback?

The info on the product page is what I have found to run most true, while the info on the size chart page is what Alkali has provided. I'm a 9.5 - 10.0 in Alkali Skates, 8.0 - 8.5 in Bauer and 10.5 shoe size (brannock shoe device).

I don't know what the "official" definition of a narrow heel is but I have to disagree with the IW statements. The CA range (I had CA9's) fitted a narrow heel and then they increased the volume in the heel considerably through subsequent releases. I had the RPD Max and took to it with clamps to try and get a better heel fit, I moved the boot 1cm inwards in the area under and just forward of the ankle. Somewhere earlier in this thread I posted measurements of the heel pocket widths between the CA9 and RPD Max and the difference is a lot. The current design is more suited for a medium width ankle, not a narrow one, and seems to be getting wider.

In my opinion, it sits between narrow and medium, maybe on the side of medium more than narrow. The Hyperlock L pads really lock the heel down and with such a moldable boot, a quick bake shores up ankle depth issues. The ankle was slightly narrowed on the RPE line too.

Im in the same boat with most of this

To answer your guys' question, Alkali widened the forefoot and used a lower profile tongue. I felt the new tongue gave me more room on the sides of my foot, plus its a little less thick than the traditional felt tongue; which is where you gain more volume internally too.

  8. Just got my set in today, can't wait to try these out. I've been using lower volume skates for awhile but recently started breaking in a pair of Nexus. The Nexus toe box feels significantly taller than what I'm used to and I seem to "swim" around a bit too much but the rest of the boot fits like a charm, here's to hoping these are the problem solver!
