  1. Glad to hear that they are still in business I heard they closed, they moved to another location. Had good experience with this shop as well! Boy the time where every manager parked their brand-new convertible Porsche in front of their shop seems to be far away.
  2. It doesn't lie flat on the ice... at all (makes it hard to perform a clean tapejob)
  3. By displaying a "smart" selection of every brand. The current stick lines consisting of so many models, for example only one unit of each one55, 75, 95, x60, x50 .. etc each in a different pattern and different flex.. with 5 sticks you already covered 5 patterns and all the available flexes, even though it's not perfect since sometime some differences remain between them, but still it should give a good picture of it. You can still show a specific pattern or appreciate the flex without opening the plastic packing. This allows you to filter a bit the customers, someone with no intention to buy won't bother to ask you a stick in the back. That how they do in some shops in europe.. And the "display store" pieces are always cheaper since they take into account that it's no new anymore.. Not to mention that now a day people care a lot more about their equipment than before, they are a bit more informed with internet etc.. some will come knowing exactly what flex/curve/pattern they want. And for those maniacs like me the real challenge will be to find the one without any cosmetic dents, scratches etc ..
  4. Yep was on the ice yesterday and today, definitely feels like a one95 (soft feel in the blade, amazing mid kick). Only the p106 (shittiest pattern ever ) spoils a bit the thing..but didnt really have the choice.
  5. yeah except that here the dent was already there when you bought it ... I'd feel like buying a used stick (mental issues)
  6. I never really understood why almost all LHS have a huge rack of sticks, I think one sample of each model is enough to check the stick and keep the rest of them in the back in their plastic bag, no need to show all different patterns, flexes (people know what it looks like). Sometime it is a mission to find the perfectly new stick untouched without any tiny scrach or whatever. It might sound crazy but when I crack +100USD on a stick I want it absolutely new in its original packaging sealed, don't want to get a piece that 100people have already touched, flexed, waved up, .... although I know it doesn't affect the stick at all.
  7. Thx! Just cut it (dont remember myself having such a hard time cutting a stick) and inside it says C29 and others codes
  8. how can I see if it's a bauerid or mybauer ?
  9. not so sure it's a true one95 It has the serial number/warranty stickers, true flex77 and 106blade.. But it's not the retail color for stick'um version and there's the blank space for the player name (empty here) No pro-stock number. If a stick pro drop by and can shed some light I'd appreciate !
  10. They are worn down, but still working. Changing the steels would have been an extra 40euros.. Right now the radius should be around 9-8 slightly toward the the rear. No idea. On the other hand the whole package (holder + job) was 36 euros, so it might not be as good as the standard ones. May be some aluminum since I saw them on very old skates and it was the only thing that didn't rust.
  11. Speedz98> Nice pick up! Clearly the skate I like the most at the moment. C'mon send us some more pics (with a true camera) please, I wonder if it's not the first pair I saw on this topic.
  12. jschlenske> Damn ... that's just brillant. I hope i'll have the same kind of room in my house later. F..... incredible how u can afford all the stuff (full of high end products) it looks like a purehockey!
  13. Love those SE16 ! Very classy look B) Nice pick up for the color :)
  14. Not balanced at all ! Pretty heavy ! BUT Pretty well crafted, thought it would be absolute crap but not at all ! Awesome Looking stick ! Awesome grip ! Awesome cap end ! :D Will see on the ice in january how it goes with this guy ...
  15. sure.. but that's not what i'm saying. At one point we all start ice-hockey, there's a 1st time when you need to buy your equipment for the 1st time... between a shop smiling and proposing you up front nice deals without asking anything and the other tightwad who won't drop a nikel - my choice is quickly done.. we share the same passion.. I'm just saying it's a bit stupid to say "the guy is a brand new customer so we won't do single move for him".. we were all new customers at one point so were the golden returning customers. Maybe not the case in US but in France the price of the gears sometime makes that parents just can't afford to have their kids play hockey. I never asked for any discount, they just offered by themself. I actually think it's kinda rude to ask for discount. Even if I absolutely dislike the occupation - nothing noble in that kind of job.. but they are the economy's motor ... buying stuff selling stuff :(
  16. To me, because the customer is new so he'll have to pay the retail price -> DOT... if he is not happy he can go fxxx himself somewhere else is a bad strategy... a shop is not a club where rebates are only for golden customers. The very few LHS I used to go (when I was a kid) are those where even if they dont know you they spontaneously propose you nice deals and awesome rebates. I remember when I bought my 709 graf in Paris, 1st time in this LHS, I wanted to go for some 609 initially but they didn't have my size, so he sold me some 709 for the 609's price B) + took time to explained the 709flexfit system and the difference with the 609, he upgraded my laces with some waxed ones, sharpened them + gave some blade protectors, small skate bags and a lillte cloth for the blade. It's nothing much for him. But at least I clearly see the difference between getting something online and to go in a shop. In another shop I could have pay the same price and just got a pair of 609 and end of the story. Example : the other f... face 2 streets further who didnt even want to hear anything about rebates because probably it was my 1st time in his shop. Conclusion he keeps his gears, I wont come back, and I wont recommand the shop to anyone... :P Some just know how to enlarge their customer base others don't.
  17. It's suprisingly funny to see how people are cheap always asking for discount. On the other hand when you crack 500USD on a pair of skate or buy a full set of gears, a little something is always appreciated, it doesnt have to be big, a free sharpening, free laces, free roll of tape ... it makes the customer come back. Best shop was in canada the guy gave me 25% off but I bought almost everything pads/helmet/skates except the stick and I was a complete foreigner... maybe his brand new 911 Porsche parked just in front of the shop helped ! :D B)
  18. Here my broken ISAC aero 9 Specs looked good Japanese carbon/445g (much more heavier in reality)/mid kick point Not a bad stick - around 90euros So I got this AK27 (alex kovalev 27) russian edition "made in mexico" quite different then the usual gold AK27 in term of weight and it's also shorter, the coating and shape of the shaft are different as well (round at the top, concave on the inner face in middle) might be a fake one actually 45euros. Lighter than a rbk 6k though + a CCM "10" blade (no vector sign or else) 45euros (very light). Result is great very well balance can't even fell the blade once the stick is in my hands.
  19. Nice, they look very well crafted! but at 200 dollars the piece, they are really touching themself on the price. The trouble is that the kick point is way too low <_< When you are used to play with wood sticks, it's not always easy to deal with it. Except Bauer, very few companies pull out mid kick point stick Low KP = female stick Mid KP = male stick If you are looking for me, I'm allready outside B)
  20. Come on people, give us some pics of your brand new x60s please B) X50s from previous pages look good ;)
  21. didn't even know these things exist! Do pros use these ? <_< Good looking blades anyway B) Can we have more photos ??
  22. I was wondering ... Checked inside... Didn't know that could happen, the bolts have biodegraded !!! :(
  23. That's the problem, nothing in high end range, in production looks good at the moment <_< Few years ago when a top of the line came out => it made everyone get an hard-on straight away! That's not the case anymore No more WOAAAAAH effect <_<
