  1. Just heard he has Avascular Necrosis, doesn't sound too good for his career. When he was healthy he was lights out for the Flyers this year. Hope the surgery goes well & he has a speedy recovery.
  2. I'm not really going with the schedule excuses, every team in the NHL has a compacted schedule this season. I'd hate to sound dramatic, but if your Captain can't even have his sticks ready, on top of the season this team is having, it's time for a new Captain. I've never heard of a player not having back-up sticks ready, that's just pathetic. Not to mention his emo interview about how heavily the Olympic roster selections were weighing on him, distracting him & affecting his play. You have to be kidding me.
  3. Okay, that makes sense. Thanks for the Steel History lesson. Something else to take up brain space where something useful could go
  4. I didn't mean the Vapor line was a bust, just the steel, which seemed to disappear pretty quickly. I guess they shaved so much weight off the boot that they no longer needed the perf'ed steel? Why not keep it and reduce weight even further? Seems odd to ditch it. Did it cost that much more to produce? Just seems odd to me.
  5. Explanation please? Just curious why the cut outs helped retain the edge. I still love the look of those old Vapors, one of my favorite skate designs. They didn't fit my foot at all, but they were cool as hell.
  6. How about the blades on Bauer's old Vapor 10's, 2002ish? Those triangle cut-outs didn't seem to stick around very long.
  7. Just a little tip for you guys sewing through mutiple layers, sail palms are awesome (same with the awls suggested). We use them for whipping lines and canvas type repairs. http://www.csosborne.com/no265.htm
  8. I still can't figure out why Stevens insists on putting maybe the most creative offensive player on the team right now (Giroux) on the 3rd line. While guys like Carter, Hartnell, Jones & Lupul (while they were here) get rewarded for their lazy/flat out shitty play with time on the top two lines/pairings & the PP. Since the beginning of Stevens tenure he has had "his boys". No matter how poorly they play there are no repercussions. Then there are the guys like Giroux, Parent, Downie & Kukkonen that for some reason end up in his dog house until the end of time for making a rookie mistake or two. I still remember when Stevens called Downie out in the papers for a mistake he made in a game (maybe the playoffs) a couple years ago. Downie got to sit in the press box for his mistake, then a game or two later one of Stevens "boys" made the same mistake, only resulting in a goal, and not a word was said about it. What the hell goes through a rookies head when he sees a worse mistake than the one that got him scratched result in no penalty for the other player? Stevens simply can't utilize his roster to it's full potential while he's playing favorites all the time, it's bizarre. **Just read that Stevens apparently switched up lines for the Caps game & Pyorala is on the 2nd line. WTF?
  9. Not really applicable. You're using the bike as intended. Not putting destructive pressure on the product, making it flex in a manner it wasn't designed for. Once again, apples & oranges. The bows are being used in the manner intended by the company. Not so in the case of the hockey stick, there are plenty of explanations of why in the thread already. This is getting silly. I see no problem with picking up sticks. Check out the weight, check out the curve, check out the shaft profile. Just don't stand there playing gorilla trying to flex a stick, it accomplishes nothing except putting potentially destructive stress on an item you most likely won't purchase anyway. I don't work in a shop, but I do respect their space and inventory.
  10. Wow! I work Public Transportation & I see that people are assholes across the board. The animal kids, the shitty attitudes, the slobs, the oblivious parents...it's everywhere and it's only going to get worse.
