  1. Just reading from some of the stuff here. Baking isn't the solution for ill fits. The boot shells themselves aren't that formable unless you take a heatgun to it. Baking is to speed up the lining material packing process. There is about roughly 5mm width in the boot that will give. But the foot last shape won't change. If you look at Scott Van Horne's TF9 tutorial on reducing boot by 1/4 size, he's an artisan and a hacksmith, I wouldn't be surprised if boot size issue are from those method, work for some, and not others. If you have 70 percentile feet. Med high arch, long toes, big heel bone, you won't have issues. Heck any brand works. But any feet outside of those parameter, man, no one knows the pain, literally.
  2. Hello all. Another flatfooter with severe pronation here... Its bad enough I still can't hockey stop... Superfeet insole raises the heel too high, ccm orthomove takes too much space away. After 20 years of trying, I am resorting to heatgun usage. Since I don't play enough to afford custom skates. Has anyone tried punching digi comp material? Or is modern composite shells friendly to such method? I am thinking of getting a pair of vapor3.7 8ee and punch it til it fits. And why vapor, the heel locks the best in all skates I have tried.
  3. first time poster and there is this big mega thread i thought I post here... True skate sizing is weird for me...was it for you? I've tried 8R, 8W, 8.5R... they all seem to be the same shell with modification done inside. Seems like 8.5W is the full size foot last, and then factory stuff the sides or the front to either narrow or shorten the skate to get the effective size down... My left foot is the smaller one and yet its the one felt tighter... is it known for True to be inconsistent? I noticed the Catalyst line is temporarily unavailable for Source for Sports online store. Guess there is some QA issue..
