Wouldn't the LF-A perform better and be as luxurious as anything German in its price range? Just because it's Japanese? Beating the living hell out of it. Took a dip into a wonderful NYC pothole which swallowed up the VRS lip, so the front end is back to stock. Stock 19's have been replaced with HRE Monoblok's and a Brembo BBK. Other than that, nothing has changed on the exterior. The interior is stock except for the alcantara BMW Performance steering wheel with digital readout If weather permits, i'll have some new pics this weekend. You like it better than your E46 and E60?

Im really just looking for decent power and torque, my chev half ton now has fine power but its only 2 door and i only have room for one person. I had a grand marquis and it was also okay but the frame was bad. You are right though, a monte carlo would not make a good daily driver. On the other hand, what would that would fit my criteria? something like a '96 Mustang GT?

You make a fair point, I'm not in love with the G37 sedan look. So, what I'm thinking now is this - either the G37 coupe or the Cadillac CTS sedan. Thoughts? get a used CTS-V.

I'm just saying at like 75 you're probably not gonna drop down to 4th right? so accelerating from 75 to 100+ is gonna have to be done in 5th gear so that combined with the all wheel drive taking up power, the wrx will accelerate slowly, correct? And even if you do drop to 4th, it still won't pick up that quick will it? any way you cut it, it's a four banger, which are notoriously lacking in the higher gears. and who's really worried about performance at 80-90 mph+ anyways? you're already past the limit at that point, right? you should be worried about the acceleration from 45/50 up to mid 60s. True, I've just heard they're fast from a stop but from a roll, even like 20-30, they're slow and even like an rsx will beat them. I never thought deciding what to get would be this hard. I might go back to thinking about a Z but they seem like the least practical of everything I'm looking at.

I used to own an 03' WRX. Fun car, practicable, reliable, and phenomenal in winters. I loved it. Never driven an RSX...and like said before, two totally different cars. Any questions about the Subaru though, lemme know. well since they only have 5 gears and apparently the first 3 are wicked short, is it really slow on the highway? That statement makes zero sense. About the WRX or about how a transmission works on a basic level. I'm talking about higher speeds, since the first gears are so short, you can accelerate faster at lower speeds but you're not gonna use those gears once you're at highway speed so you're gonna have to use the 5th gear and acceleration will be slower? Am I wrong? I probably am I don't know.

In Aspen every other car is a Range Rover though, I don't know about finding one in MA.

dude... that's about as diverse as you can get. 4 door boxer engine vs 2 door integra. hmmm... what do you have now? saab 9000 aero... beat up piece of shit. I'm a very indecisive person and I cannot make up my mind about a car. I just want something newer, fast, and reliable. I think I want the Subaru but everything I've read said they're good at launching but the AWD takes up too much power and they suck at highway speeds. The RSX-S I found is a little old has too many miles on it (97k) but I figured with the extra money I save I could mod it (maybe a turbo?). I don't know if a 97k mile engine could even handle that though.

That was me the with the 3 series and accord, not me with the mustang. I've decided on a 350z if I can find one though. MR2s must be pretty hard to find, I never see those around anymore. There are a TON of them out here. I'm pretty set on the Z, I just need to find one now. I just wish I had a couple thousand more for an Evo but I'm not working once school starts and I'm not waiting until next year.

$14k opens up a whole lot more options than say $10k. You should be able to get an 06 Civic SI with around 40k on the clock in the $14k range pretty easily. Perhaps that is an option? Seems like everybody has one, but they are pretty good cars. You could also get a nice G35 Coupe/Sedan or a 350z with decent mileage. There are a TON out there... Yeah, my budget's like $14k but I just happened to find 2 BMW's for exactly $10k. I don't know where to look though, every ad on craigslist seems sketchy and they don't usually have that much. My dad's friend goes to auctions so I'll ask him to look but he charges around $1000 if he buys it I think. Where do you get your cars? I love alpine white and black on black M3s but red was definitely the right decision IMO. I don't think I've ever seen a red e92 in real life, that photoshop picture looks sick.

With $10k, i would stay away from the E46, unless they have super low mileage and are in immaculate condition. I highly doubt that's possible in that price range, though. One's an 04 with 59k miles but it says it "needs a little work body bumpers and right side nothing major" and the other one's an 01 with 77k miles that looks nice. Thanks for the reply. I guess I'll just go with the honda, can't expect too much for under $14k...

I haven't gotten much help about the Accord post but I guess I'll keep asking anyways. I found 2 E46 5 speed 325ci's for $10k on craigslist. I still think the accord might be faster in a straight line but I'm guessing the BMW would take it handling. Does anyone have experience with either of these cars or anything else in this price range? I mean I'm not expecting to get a great performance car as my daily driver at this price, I just want to make the best decision and I don't know what car to get. Pulled the trigger today. If you don't feel like reading just read the last line I think it's annoying when people ask what car to get but I'm gonna do it anyways. This site doesn't seem to get much traffic any more but I think I'll get some responses. A guy my dad works with is selling his car soon and he told my dad he'll go to me first if I want it. It's a 2004 Honda Accord V6 6 speed coupe with 40k miles. It's fully loaded with leather, navigation, and I think with a CAI, exhaust, and some other stuff (no ricer) it could be kind of quick (even though I'm sure the handling is shitty). It's also silver which is a color I hate and I think it's a pretty ugly car. I think he'll be selling it for around $12k. I'm probably gonna buy it because it'll be reliable and somewhat fun. Not luxurious but not bad for a Honda. The thing is, though, I just keep thinking about how I want a faster car with better handling that'll be more fun. Is there any car like that for under $14k? I was looking at an E36 M3 that I posted but it sold on another site in an hour. I was also thinking about a WRX but it'll more than likely be beat up and I think they get uglier each time I see one, especially the bugeyes. I was thinking about an s2000 and keep my shitty car as beater for the winter and stuff but I think I just want to get a daily driver. Anyone have any ideas about a good car for under $14k or does that sound like my best option?

Still haven't decided on a suitable replacement. I've ruled out the Maserati GranTurismo, so now its down to an E90/E92 M3 and the CLK63 BlackSeries. I'm just trying to find the right car for the amount I'm willing to spend. Didn't you already have an E92 M3 and say it wasn't worth it? The fastest car I've driven is an S55 AMG. More HP in a CLK class must be ridiculous. Have you driven both?
