THockey, you seem to have a lot of experience with M3's, or anyone... Does this seem like a pretty good deal or a waste of money for an 18 year old? http://www.massdriven.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28397 I'm not sure if I could afford M3 parts and the mileage is pretty high, but this seems like it's in great condition for a 1997.

As far as mine goes, work hasn't even started. I didn't even take a single picture of it, as its quite rough around most edges :P . Its just sitting in the corner of the shop. As soon as I figure what motor to go with, things will start moving quickly. Its between either a Euro S52 or an S54. Leaning towards the S54 as I still have parts for it from my old M3. Just need to find a source for a clean full motor. Not to mention 333hp sounds alot better than 240. If you want to look at some builds, check out S14 Lots of good stuff to browse through. make sure you update with pictures when you start, sounds like a sick project. my neighbor used to have a mint 1989 3 series convertible with like 20,000 miles on it, i always liked those.

Why do companies understate horsepower? I would expect it to be the opposite.

yeah, it's hard to see but his shoulder goes right into his head. like you said though its hard when there's such a big height difference, a lot of refs are gonna call the hit no matter what, at least at a level below juniors.
