  1. I rec'd my stick from the Mission Promo and I guess they were out of the Hossa and Boyes because they sent me the brutal ( in my opinion ) Rafalski pattern in the Fuel Ti, but the stick looks and feels light as hell.

Just curious, what's the turn around time on the stick promo? I haven't gotten said 'email' yet

  2. Same here... Took a bit, but I really do love their products. The guy that used to work on my skates was always trying to sell me on Mission. I had all sorts of issues finding skates that "worked" for my strange feet.... the AG90's were the most pleasant experience I have had so far, so the AGX was a nice upgrade.

I ended up picking up a V-Hex off of a member here, and I was sold on their sticks.

  3. anthonyjta, they are great skates, maybe a little narrow for my foot as i'm starting to realize after two practices but once i get them molded that should help. i love how the boot is cut though, nice and flexible but enough support that i'm not breaking my ankles.

They are great... I picked up a EE, since I have a wider/flatter foot. A nice lil' improvement from my 90AG's... the added stiffness is nice. I'd get them molded if I were you, they're like night & day once they're heated.

...Side note, we got some pretty similar taste in gear, ey? haha... I remember you were looking for M-1's like I was, now the AGX. We either got good taste, or we're quite the brand loyalists.

  4. Ah, bummer.... Just realized if I bake my new AGX skates tomorrow morning, I shouldn't skate on them for 24 hours?? Booooo! I mean, if the shop I go to does them by noon, would skating at midnight cause any damage? One would think aboot 13 hours should be enough for glues and materials to settle?

  5. Good taste, Chadd..... that Gold top is making me drool. I'm also a big fan of the Alvarez acoustics...

Funny thing is didn't pay more than $500 for any of them. Add in all the pickups and parts I've gone through with some of them and it gets crazy.

I deeply, deeply regret dumping majority of my gear after I quit my last band... Just being so burnt out, I wanted it all out of my face, and I had no means of storage... I had a lovely Spector Europe 4 string in emerald green, an Ampeg SVT-3 Pro head, and an Ampeg 8x10 cab. I'll also look for an old pic to scan of my custom ESP's.... I had an Ultratone, and a snazzy Eclipse through a 3 channel Boogie Dual Rec half stack.

Lately I've been eyeing new gear (I may have to wait 'til post-wedding: Sept '09) and although I'm not a Peavey fan, the new Valveking sounds great for the $$..

  6. i work at a pure hockey, ive tried it all many times those "protective squares" are awful, prob one of the last gloves i would pick to buy

As long as you're not in the Marlborough/Berlin location.... I just called looking for a pair of Mission AGX. Guy says "You mean AG? Or do you mean XP?... *long pause*"

I then had to explain to him the entire concept of the AGX skate... low AG ankle, XP lateral stiffness... no idea what I was talking about.

  7. Nothing too special, unless you've been trying to snag a pair on eBay for the past 5 months or so. Finally, the eBay Gods are in my favor. Now I need to stop being lazy and skate for the first time in 2 months. It's a pretty wide, boxy glove... I like it a lot.

    Mission M-1's

  8. I stay at a sheraton in braintree anually for the chowder cup. Is it close to there? :o

The Sheraton is about a minute from Pure Hockey... once you're at the hotel, ask them to guide you to Wood Rd. Real, real simple....Pure Hockey will be down a ways on the left. Although I don't know if Braintree is the best representation of the chain.... they haven't had a whole lot of anything lately.

  9. IMO, the white-out versions of the NBH 4 rolls are the nicest looking gloves out there.

I would have to agree 100%... when Pure Hockey got those in a year or so ago, I was close to buying a white/black trim pair. As much as I love them, I know my OCD kicks into high gear, and maintaining them would be tough.... so I just went with black Warriors. I'm eyeing either NBH 4-rolls or Mission Fuel 130's
