  1. As for the new building. I'm definately excited because it should be an awesome facility. The only thing I don't agree with in the new construction is that it will only seat 18,087 for hockey. They should have built it for 20,000. The season ticket waiting list is well over 3,000 people deep.

supply and demand my friend, if they go to 20,000 thats gonna reduce demand for each game which will bring down ticket prices

  2. Dear Mr. UPS Driver,

Did you forget to put on your Mylec helmet before you left for work today you window licker? I don't know where or who taught you how to read a map and understand address sequences but I suggest you see them about a refund. The last time I checked the garage at 1311 is no where near the front yard of 1624 where I found my package. Thank you for causing me to spend have my day talking to high school dropouts trying to find my package and get my money, kthxbye

    sincerely,

customer concerned with your absurd levels of retardation

  3. can't forget about the guys who think they are tough because of thier size. I'm about 5'10"/190lbs, last week the other team had a Dman about 6'4. I play alot in the front of the net and don't mind taking a beating as long as it's honest. I pull up in front to get position and this guys starts laying into me good and saying "you gonna try and out muscle me in front of my own net" like it was suppose to intimidate me. So I respond with Yep and change my position. Next thing I know this guys starts butt ending me in the side of the head. After about 3 wacks I had enough and retaliated with a good solid cross check. One of my team mates comes in to pull me out and the guys starts in on him with a week cross check to his face. I get 2, he gets a game. Completely uncalled for. If you can't play the game or don't have skills then practice instead of trying to hurt someone.

I'm the same size as you and get that all the time, but what the other guy doesn't know is that I have a 400lb bench press from playing cfb so when they square up and try to confront me all it takes is one quick tug by the collar of their jersey and they're on the ice with everyone on their bench laughing at them.... That usually shuts em up

  4. waking up extremely hungover and looking at your bank account and figuring out you spent $220 at the bar the night before.....

Did that this past April during a tourney in Charleston. It sucks, but I guess it's the price you pay for getting that drunk.

    i dont miss those days.

my worst ever was $1200. what put me way over the top was that i made the mistake of hiring a cab driver to wait for us outside an after hours bar, and he did.... waited for 5 hours with the meter running and charged my visa.

atleast you had a ride home, I slept in a parking lot til my friends found..... def. not one of my most proud moments

  5. I hate living in Texas the football players are treated like royalty. They have their shirts that say the kings of Colleyville (School I go to.) They get the spirit girls to do their homework for them, they get curves on tests that no one else gets, and teachers pass them if they get a 50 or higher, because they are like gods. I know it will get them no where in life eventually but it still pisses me off to no extent.

happens everywhere man. get used to it. when i was in school it sucks, but wait till there out of high school and you can laugh at them since most end up like losers cause nothing is handed to them. no offense anyone to played football, but its usually true.

I played in high school and was able to get a scholarship and played my first two years of college before I lost interest, turns out school isn't so easy when you're paying for it on your own....... Not that I needed the help or anything through school but who's gonna turn down the oppurtunity to skate through school? Biggest disservice anyone could ever do for me, if I could go back and do it again I wouldn't take the lazy route in school

  6. I take that comment back.....Don't want to look like a jackass goon

I guess I missed the original comment. My only problem with this is that I've learned that treating people without respect is unacceptable. I'm fine with the fact this older gentleman is a regular at the rink, I hope that when I'm his age I'm still hanging around a hockey rink or baseball field with regularity. But, just because you're always there does not give you the right to treat someone like they are trespassing on your private property. I paid my money, I have just as much right to be there as he does. Also, an intentional trip, slash, or crosscheck could not only result to serious injury to me, but any other person he would try that crap on as well.

Completely agree, and after playing at a level where you had to pay a price for crap like that it's frustrating to go play and have people trip, slash, and crosscheck people because thats what they see on TV but they completely ignore the fact that if anybody pulled the stuff they do in the NHL or high level of competitive play they would be leaving minus some teeth and/or a black eye

  7. Don't be a dick to new people if you're a regular. Especially when they've done nothing wrong.. My case being made this morning at pickup:

My buddy and I go to pickup hockey first thing in the morning. I haven't been on the ice, other than pond hockey, in a solid ten years. My buddy plays once in a while, but still isn't anything to hang a hat on. We both play inline for our college, but we're paying on a men's ice team this summer and are just trying to get our legs and some technique back. After about 45min. of just shooting and working on stick handling some other guys show up and start stretching out... all-in-all we have six guys. They ask if we want to play 3 on 3 posts. Sure, I'm terrible at hitting posts, but I'll skate hard and have some fun, whatever. Out of the six of us there's one guy that looks like a legitimate hockey player (when he actually felt like playing no one could get the puck away from him, and he was ten kinds of fast) But there is also another guy there in his mid to late fifties who was undoubtedly a regular, he wasn't very good but had an uncanny ability to hit posts. Me and the lazy, albeit good, guy and some other gentlemen get on a team. The better guy spends the entire time just passing the puck and passing up shots to set us up (pretty cool considering to show the main subject of the story up he went post-crossbar-post to prove he could have won the game himself). Anyway, I get some chances... wide-open chances... and just miss the pipe every time. Not too bad, but a bit frustrating. The older guy from earlier decides to start harassing my team about getting beat. Whatever, all in good fun. Next time we're on offense i skate through the crease after a puck... old guy cross-checks me in the back, "don't go in the crease!". I just kinda of looked at him confused, I didn't think I'd done anything to piss him off. Next time skating with the puck in the corner, hacks at the back of my left knee. Same thing after I went around him with the puck to get in alone a few minutes later. I would go on to get slashed, hacked, cross-checked, and slew-footed a good deal the rest of the morning. When time was up I'm skating to the exit when I hear the guy tell me to expect more of the same for a while if I keep showing up for early morning pick-up. Mind you, I took the abuse like a champ. The guy in question is maybe 5'5"-6" 165-75 pounds. I weigh in at 205 lbs. and 6' tall...the guy doesn't intimidate me at all. Normally, whatever, the guy is just a dick with a chip on his shoulder, I'll just be the bigger man. But, I'm on a two week break before my college baseball national tournament starts, I don't need someone out there with intent on hazing, "the new guy." I'm there to learn and have a good time. Moral of this story. The rink I go to is on the verge of going belly-up, and part of the problem is no one comes to open hockey anymore. I can only imagine the antics of people like this guy are partially to blame for the problems the rink has attracting new players. Oh, and you shouldn't treat people like dirt. Rant over.

    What rink is this?

I take that comment back.....Don't want to look like a jackass goon

  8. Just got back from checking them out and I'm with TBL, the only thing I don't like is the tongue but I've always been a supreme style tongue guy......Love the new liner, the added volume is nice for me but I'm still in between width's so I still have issues.......Overall very impressed with the skate

I've never had one scab as bad as this one did, its been almost 2 weeks and theres still a little piece of scab on it and i keep putting lotion on it because the skin appears really really dry where its not scabbed p. I don't know if its placement, being that on the inside of my arm it sticks to my body/blanket/pillows when I sleep or if its cause that skin is kinda tender in that spot on your body or what the deal is.

The tattoo place didn't give me any lotion or anything like they normally do so I had to pick up my own stuff at Wal Mart (aqua something or other, can't remember right now what its called) but..

    Cell phone picture btw

That doesn't look that bad....Mine on the inside of my arm looked like that for a while, it just took a little longer to heal. Just keep putting lotion on it every couple of hours and make sure you don't pick it

  10. My dad was thinking about getting one for me and my sisters; which i thought was weird because im 20 but anywho, He went to the same guy who did my tattoo's and the guy said he recommends to anyone who isn't getting a face portrait, to give the artist doing the tattoo a couple things that the kid likes for ex: football, hockey etc.... but they like doing that because they can come up with a design incorporating those things and if you have more kids you can and stuff to it. Plus, I don't know how old you are but doin something like barbed wire may look good or be cool now but is it gonna in 20 years? In 20 years you don't want a tattoo that was suppose to be for your son to look weird or you having regret about getting that design done. Just my 2 cents though.
