  1. anyone who knows how to search can just use google and find the negatives of the X60 skates I really don't care when I happen to see the skate and I'm not really interested in looking around for pictures. I was simply questioning the marketing philosophy behind what they are doing. When the skate comes out I'll look at it, until then, I'll wait like most people.
  2. By no means am I saying that Bauer has some type of obligation to release any of its line before it hits stores. My point was if you're releasing the rest of your line you may as well put pictures of the skates out there. Even if the skates are truly revolutionary in terms of performance, is there really all that much competitive information that could be gleaned from a catalog picture and description that it would really be detrimental to them? At the end of the day, its neither here nor there, it just seems overkill to me, but I totally respect their right to do whatever they want.
  3. Am I the only one that thinks this secrecy with the skates line is a little bit overboard? I mean is the new skate they're bringing to market really going to be that revolutionary that this CIA treatment is really worth it at the end of the day?
  4. SAK, Without making too much competitive information public - can you tell us if the FBV concept was something that Blackstone developed internally or something you purchased/licensed from a third party? Thanks
  5. Its attitudes like this that lead to incidents like my LHS owner offering to sell me the store (which included the property) in exchange for paying off his inventory invoices.
  6. Anyone know if the R8 one piece can be turned into a shaft by heating and pulling the blade? Looking at the stick it seems like it should be able to be heated and pulled, but I was wondering if anyone had actually tried it.
  7. Geeze, is this a pair of skates or a set of nuclear launch codes we're talking about? They're still going to be a skate and look like a skate regardless of the colors or graphics package. Is there really anything that radical they can do to tweak the look anymore?
  8. I see you're in NYC so I'm about 99% sure I know what shop you are talking about so I think I can shed some light for you. When I was in the market for skates I looked seriously at Graf's and had that shop fit me up extensively. They even baked a pair of Graf's for me so I could feel what they would be like one they were molded. At the end of the day I decided to go with One95's. Since I bought the new skates I have had them baked, profiled, sharpened, and punched at this shop and the guys could not have been nicer. Now, I will tell you I did ask them about the possibility of them ordering One95's, in passing, and they said it would take them 8-10 weeks to get the skates and I was very clear I didn't want to wait that long, so that may contribute to how things played out. At the end of the day, these guys are quite nice and I don't think they would give you a hard time.
  9. Then neither does your response, which could have been done by PM. This thread was discussing the exact issues I was inquiring about (sharpening depth, hollow, etc,) which in fact were themselves a tangent from the original thread topic. So relax. There are numerous existing threads that already discuss what you were asking about, which is not the topic of this thread. This thread already got off on one unrelated tangent and, in my opinion, DS was trying to stop it from going a direction that has already been discussed repeatedly on these boards.
  10. That floorball game is pretty sick. I went over to Finland about 15 years ago to play in a tournament with my PeeWee team and the guides showed us floorball. So of course we all bought sticks and were playing in the hotel hallways like the genius kids that we were, but it was a ton of fun. Unfortunately when we came back home there was no where to play.
  11. Has anyone gotten sticks through the RM19 program? Any ideas what the turn around time and pricing is? Thanks.
