  1. Can anyone help me with this?  Basically, I have been playing for a long time now (28 years) but I have never messed with profiling, radiuses, etc.  I just always get my skates sharpened at 1/2 inch but I want to try quad zero at Zac911's (True rep) suggestion.  I am currently skating on a True boot with LS Edge/Step BlackSteel with a small shim to pitch me forward a bit.  Just wondering what the best option for me would be as far as a quad profile goes.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated :12_slight_smile:

Really depends on what you are looking for, why do you want to switch from a 10/11'?

Quads gives you the ability to make tighter turns but have stability in the middle and back end if the blade.

There is quad 0, 1 and 2.  Alot of guys go with quad 1, but I didn' notice much of a difference between that and 9/10'.  On the quad scale 0 would be better for turning, 2 would be for speed.  1 would be inbetween both.

Great info, thanks for posting that! :1310_thumbsup_tone1:

The holes do line up but the lhs that did mine said a couple had to be beveled a bit to ensure a property fit, so short answer is yes.

As for the heel cup I left mine on and it was fine. I had edge holders put on twice with the cup by two different lhs without any issues.

I'm not a fan of the edge holders though. I've had two sets and both there have been some issues with clicking steel. Although the play is minimal, once I burn through my new set of tydans, I am going to put ls2 holders on them and not have to worry about loose steel.

Thanks man.  I have another friend who uses Edge with Step black on them so my buddy wants that same setup... have you ever used step black on the edge holders and had any issues?

  4. Does anyone know if the True/VH holder and the LS Edge holder have the same hole patterns?  A buddy of mine wants to get Edge holders and asked me this question but I wasn't sure.  He is also wondering if the True heel piece will have to be removed for the Edge holders and if that will be easy for a LHS to do... not sure of that answer either.  Any help would be great :)

Those Franchises are MINT! All the Maine ones I've seen on Sidelineswap before were beat to hell.

Thanks man.  They were used a couple times but in very good shape, I lucked out. I love traditional 4-roll gloves so I should be set for a while.

Just ordered a pair yesterday.4-6 weeks delivery. I went with no holder, planning to go LS2 with Step Steel. For the tongue I took the classic one -- is that comparable to the old One90/One95 Tongue?

I’d say that the classic tongue is longer and thicker than a stock One95 tongue but not as thick as the old Bauer 4000/Bauer Comp felt tongue.

Will do. I reached out via email at the beginning of this week. If I don't here back soon, I'll send the PM. Thanks.

    Thanks for the tip!

I have the same issue with True and Warrior blades, about them being loose in the shaft.  Just get two strips of tape and vertically wrap them on the piece with the glue, one on top of the other, then heat it up that way and insert it.  Works like a charm.

Here’s a photo of the method I use for this, in case anyone is interested.  The tape adds just enough thickness to make things a little more snug while still maintaining some adhesive properties in place of the glue that it’s covering.

I'm interested as well. Right now, I have 3 A6.0 SBP shafts, one standard and other two tapered. The standard blade broke at the insert during my FIRST ice session  (was coaching practice). This was over 2 months and I'm still waiting on True to fulfill the warranty due me ha. As for my tapered blades, I've only used them for one game (this past Tuesday). I had to switch sticks because the one became loose (I'm assuming/hoping its a lack of glue). It's been almost ten years since I've done the shaft+blade combo. Not exactly smoothing sailing early on but I want to give True a fair chance. Hopefully things will start to look better for me haha...

I'm glad you mentioned this. Last season the helmet was unbranded. I guess Bauer still pays the NHL for Easton sticks but no other gear. I didn't realize the sticks are still available retail.

There was a huge clearance on all Easton sticks at Monkey and Giant over the last few months, IIRC you can still find some of them at the stores.  I stopped using Easton sticks years ago so I don't really pay attention to their rack.

Hard to tell from the pics but it looks like it may have came like that from the factory? The small bubbles at the end look like more of a build issue than wear and tear. Doesn't look to be structural, I would fill it in with some resin and call it a day.

I agree, resin could fix the issue pretty well but I agree with his point too that it’s a little disappointing that it happens at two skates in.
