  1. Some places charge the exact same price for FBV as regular sharpening.

My experience has been that FBV doesn't stay sharp as long as regular. But I now run the Miraclestone once on all 4 sides after every skate and have noticed I can go a lot longer between sharpenings.

+1, though this is coming from a guy that can go a month plus(skate 2-3 times /week) w/o getting skates sharpened.

  2. Saw something weird on a display X60 skate in a proshop at a local rink. It didnt have the new Hyra Max liner in it. It looked and felt like the black low end lining in the lower end skates. I took pictures of it with my phone but it is hard to make out. Has anyone else seen something like this? Anyone know why an X60 skate would have the low end lining in it? I asked the guy that was there about it and he just said it was what it was. Just curious.

my customs x60's are like that. I'm pretty sure it's the same material they used in last year's x60, just black instead if red.

  3. [img ]http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh218/TBLfan/glove/Eastone.jpg[/ img]

This is cool. Notice the tips of the fingers on the right hand; the middle, ring and pinkie fingers have leather tips... WITH plastic inserts.

Gloves are super stiff but they close fine. The fit is NOT like a normal Z-air, it's tighter and the fingers are shorter... They fit and feel exactly like an Easton 1350 but with two-piece fingers.

damn you tbl! i was bidding on those too. once it got above $125, it was too rich for my blood. if you ever want to get rid of them, let me know.

  4. highslot84, noticed the semin is broke. you gonna use the blade to make customs?

I was thinking about having the shaft repaired... thru a guy on here its 40 bucks + shipping.. i think it broke high enough that it wont mess w/ the flex.. plus its already stiff as hell... no wonder Semin shoots so hard and fast.. (see what i did there :P)

I'd make customs if i could find smaller quantities of carbon fiber blades.. but seems from reading here that wood is pretty much the only way to go.

I'm going to be waiting for the equipment sale again this summer/fall.... and ill be buying max quantity of them.. may be willing to work some deals if i ever make it to a "member +" lol

you could have a custom 52 Cal OPS from Combat. I think the min order is six. they also do custom composite blade. you can check out the Combat catalog for more information. If you do go that route, i wouldn't mind taking one off your hands. :P

  5. So Sirunsky, that's like 47 pairs of gloves if I'm counting correctly, and you said there's still more to come. I love hockey gloves and some of those are absolute filth. But how the hell can you justify spending that much coin on gloves??? Not chirping, just trying to understand.

if you don't understand, you're looking at the wrong website. :P

  6. My new babies came in! Custom X:60 w/ lots of custom goodies: xtra stiff boot, double stitched, re-enforced eyelets, solid/re-enforced tendon guard, flexlite toe cap, and last but not least, a EEEE/B boot! I finally have a pair of skates that don't destroy my feet by the of the game. Big thanks to Steve at Get an Edge Pro Shop in MI and Bauer for getting these bad boys just the way I want them. If anyone wants to get customs done in the south eastern Michigan area, he's the man to go see.

    pics

just a curious question, why you choose flexlite toe caps, is it fit reasons? and holy crap aren't you asian? 4x Es :P

Yah, asian's tend to have wider feet in relation to causcasians. I went with flexlite toe caps because they are wider then the vapors, allows my toes some room to spread. Not perfect however, my big toes still rub a little against the side.

  9. I just got the retro bauers. I will post pics when I get home tonight.

Apparently another pair just went up for sale on ebay:

Always pisses me of when someone tries to rip people of with shipping ($30 bucks in the states is a joke with the flat rate boxes)

don't want to call anyone out. but I'm pretty sure that auction belongs to a member here and is responsible for the flood of Bauer 4rolls you guys are about to see in the show it off section. and yah, can't wait to check mine out, damn ups guy needs to get to my house now!

  10. In the pattern chart each curve is followed by a three digit number(i.e. Savard lie 4 is 124), does the last number indicate the lie number, and if so does this mean that both the Vanek and Kovalchuk will be available in lies 4 or 5? Also has the Kovalchuk now become a toe rather then a mid, and have they made the Vanek a deeper curve?

Noticed that too. wouldn't say it's a pure toe curve, looks kinda like the old smyth curve they killed off.

  11. Custom X:60 L: 6EEA R: 6 1/4 EEA... Double stitched, reinforced eyelets and rows, high vamping, extra material in the uppers, extra later of dual density foam in the liner.... Suppose to have oversized toe caps but that was left off, the forgot to put one logo on the left skate lol and they put a nike bauer logoed outsole... Happy with them but not a totally seamless fit

you payed top dollar for customs. if they don't fit you like a glove and aren't built to your specs (and not to mention missing logos), i'd return them. I just got traced for custom skates myself, if they weren't to my specs, I'd be pissed!
