JR Boucicaut 3803 Report post Posted April 20, 2005 It takes a while to get used to. I started wearing cleats after like 11 years and it took me a while to get used to.
ajd91187 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2005 u might want to consider going to the podiatrist (sp) (aka foot doctor). I used to have the same pain in my shins just from gym class, and the insoles they gave me helped a ton.
all-star 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2005 well i pronate. i think thats what its called. where my ankles turn inwards. could that be a problem?
ajd91187 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2005 all i know is that i have a high arch and the insoles helped tremendously... no pain until i grew outta them in 2 months
hockey_player_11 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2005 Shin splints maybe?
asdfa 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2005 definately shin splints, i had the same problem, it could be because your cleats don't have enough cushioning, especially if your field is hard. my suggestion would be to get insoles
SLy MaLLone 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2005 I would definetly say shin splints too... I had them during lacrosse tryouts one year, it was terrible.

Drewhunz 3 Report post Posted April 22, 2005 When the connective tissues on your lower leg bones (Tibia & Fibula) detach or perforate fromn the bone. It'll get better, they just need time to heal.
asdfa 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2005 according to my gym teachers from the last 3 years, it's caused by improper cushioning, especially when running or jumping on hard surfaces, and it has something to do with the shock. so if you pronate, you're probably concentrating the force of your impacts on the balls of your feet, not spreading them out to absorb the impact. getting some insoles to correct pronation would definately help, or you could go gellin :D
