Eagle Gloves w/ Stay Fresh Plams

Hey Guys...looking for any info you could provide on Eagle Gloves with the Stay Fresh Plams.

I've had some rashes that the Doc has attributed to my gloves. Kind of surprising since I am a FREAK about airing out my equipment when I'm done playing, but whatever...

Anyway, I have Eagle X70's right now...and I love 'em. Doc says I should get a new pair of gloves (due to the rashes), so I was thinking Stay Fresh Palms this time around. Great excuse to try new hockey gear, eh?!

Anyone have any experience with these palms? Do they actually work (as far as reducing / eliminating bacteria like they say)? Do they work well enough to justify the extra $50?

Palms are only a $5 upgrade, the $50 is for the stay fresh package on the entire lining. The gloves don't fit me so I can't comment on the effectiveness, sorry.

Ahhhh...just skimmed and saw the $50 - thanks, Chadd.

Come to think of it part of the problem is on my wrist area - so maybe the whole liner would be a good idea.

I'd go with the whole package if I were you. I doubt the palm-only treatment will help too much.

Ive had my cp94s with the stayfresh package for about 4 months now, still smell new after 5-6 times a week usage. The glove essentially never gets wet, and has a nice "pillowy" feel to it on the inside.

I doubt they do anything to reduce bacteria growth. Best is to air out well, use a glove dryer like the DRYGUY. Everything else is hype and marketing.

yeah the whole stayfresh on the x70s are great. did the dr. say why your getting a rash? it could be that ur skin is being affected from the liner since your hand skin may be allergic to anything but leather

Split fingers are a custom option, only a couple dollars more. If you look at the Eagle catalog posted the "extreme" has the carbon weave.

the eagle custom pro glove.comes standard split finger this is what the customer service but the glove is als listed in JR's catalogue thingy stating its called the infiity. its there new retail glove

The infinity I tried wasn't split and was very strangely shaped, possibly the most massive glove I've ever worn. I tried on a pair of custom pros and I liked them but they're more expensive and for him to get them with the stay fresh package would be around $250 at a minimum. The CP98s are listed in the price list as having split fingers standard.

I sell a few eagle gloves, but that's not the real issue. BTW, other manufacturers use Pittards leather, not just Eagle. Neverthelsess, they say "This unique anti-microbial technology is chemically bonded to the leather fibre structure so these properties will remain even after repeated washing, providing enhanced leather durability, lower maintenance and longer lasting freshness to the wearer".

What I would like to know is how is this different than the other stay-fresh chemical treatments? What is repeated washings, two, three? How long is longer lasting freshness? IMO, stay fresh/anti microbal linings do not work well with hockey equipment. If they do, it's for a very short period. Bacteria multiplies at a quick rate, and thrives in damp wet conditions, like glove fingers and skate toe areas. If the typical player is skating 3 times a week, and not drying equipment well, no chemical treatment is going to prevent odors. I see hundreds of skates come thru my shop with these linings, let me tell you they smell bad. Like with any chemical treatment, it wears off, can't last forever. I just believe it's more hype than reality.

Nobody else in hockey uses the MicroSpike technology from Pittards.

For what it's worth...I decided to take the plunge and order a custom pair of Eagles (apparantly I have more money than sense?! :D ).

Black, Carbon Weave X70's with Split Fingers and the Stay Fresh package (throughout). I'll let you guys know what I think of them after I've had them for a while.

I just know the guys who have had the palms haven't had a problem at all.
