SL Flex

Recommended Posts

Just heard around rink that the SL's flexs are not what they seem.. im contemplating picking up an SL grip real soon and have the choice of a 100 or 110.. for the last 3-4 yrs all my Ops's have been a 100 flex or equivalent.. will an SL 110 Flex give me the flex or equivalent of an 03/04 Synergy - 100 Flex ??? Cheers

i think what hes tryin to say is that the sl is a little more whippier, IMO the stealth is 100 flex is whippier than the synergy 100 flex but not by much.. but im with sherwood .... just stick with 100flex

What rausch said - there was an impression that the stealth 100 was whippier than previous synnergy/easton 100's. Some attributed this to the longer taper.

The easy answer to the question is to go to your LHS, test-flex an SL 100 and 110, and see which you like best.

So that mean..Vector with their 24'' taper flex..are he more whippier stick...

If all other things were exactly equal, excluding the taper, it would feel more whippy.

If i had the opportunity to test flex them that would have been the 1st thing i did, but unfortunatly living in Sydney Australia, my LHS doesnt have rows and rows of Ops's.. i ended up having to order it through my coach who plays in the AIHL and runs the rinks local pro shop.. so basically from what ive heard, the longer taper and shaft construction of the SL's ST's and Stealths all create a more whippier effect, if that makes any sense ;) Im 5'9 and weigh 75 kg, i find the bauer 102 pro and easton 100 flex to be just perfect for me, but dont wanna through away $350 on something im not happy with.. if the SL 110 is equivalent to previous 100 flexs or even just a little more, i would be more than happy! Cheers for the feedback boys..

P.s. I have 24 hours to decide on the Flex... and im unsure!

I think the new SLs are whippier than last year's Synergies...only by a little though. I attribute this to perhaps a little longer taper, and the narrower shaft dimensions of the SL. As previously discussed (see Modo's post awhile back on his Stealth measurements) one way they trimmed weight was by narrowing the sidewalls down all the way up the shaft. It is def. a slimmer shaft, and this could make it a little more snappier.

is the stealth a true one piece stick? or can you still heat up the fuse point and take out the blade?

It isn't a true one, it has a fuse point. As in heating it up and taking it out I don't know, I've never heard of anyone doing that yet.

I was wondering too.

I mean i can deal with it but its kinda strange.

I own two 110 Flex Synergy's

The Synergy Grip (yellow) is pretty stiff but the Synergy SL is very whippy, i can bend it with 2 hands easily... but thats ok with me as long as i score (which i do ^_^)
