How people can say Iginla and Brodeur are over rated is beyond me. They a couple of the hand full of super stars left in the game of hockey i.e. people you would pay to watch regardless of the team they were on.

Watch how he plays when he isn't in net for the Devils. He's better than average but his numbers are a product of the system his team uses. Let's be honest, you or I could pick a team to represent Canada that would win most tournaments, no matter who we put in net. I'd even go far enough to say that they wouldn't have a significantly worse record with a journeyman goalie in net.

His numbers are a product of the system but the guy will probably end up with the best numbers of all time and were New Jersey great before he came on the scene....me thinks not.

What defines a good goalie, over and above save percentage and GAA is WINS.

He didn't play amazing in the WC, but considering he hadn't played all year it wasn't bad going to win a silver.

He is the best goalie in the world. He doesn't make anything over complicated unless he has to (i.e. penalty shot save on Palffy). Most important is that he is always relaxed and I think the D men in front of him feed off that.

Redden takes a lot of abuse. people always say he sucks and hes overrated, but if you actually watch him consistently hes one of the most solid d in the league. The world championships helped proved that i think.

Todd White gets no recognition but he is solid as well. McCabe is way overrated and Sundin is underrated.

Pat Quinn and Jaques Martin are both overrated coaches...enough about Ontario teams though...

Yeah, Denis Savard was amazing. Oh wait, Marc Savard. Good call, he gets overshadowed by Kovalchuk and Heatley but he's a very good player.

He was getting alot of praise until he was injured this year. I expect he won't fly under the radar for too much longer. I saw them play TO just before his injury and he was discussed the entire time.

Savard skates at the same rink as me, i havent been on the ice with him yet, but i've watched him a couple of times, the passes he makes are unbelievable and his shot is so quick (he's been using a retail drury si-core grip)hes a really effortless skater too, hes skilled alll around. I remember a couple years back when the hockey news polled nhl players on who they hated the most in the league, Marc came first....

Because he plays in Columbus which isn't exactly the media capital of the world and he hasn't played for very long

Doesn't mean he's underrated. When you've only played roughly 60 games in the NHL and you're PPG in the Dary Tucker ballpark, but you're supposed to be a first line scorer with trouble back checking, it makes it difficult to be underrated. I think Zherdev will be a great player, but its hard to underrate a guy who's had one 13 goal year.
