So far I haven't had any sticks stolen (knock on wood...or graphite in this particular case.)

I'm the only player that I know who uses red palm-killing tape on my butt-end and I write #67 in black Sharpie on my butt-ends (with the exception of the 2 or 3 hollow butt-ends I own.) Of course someone could easily sand the number off....

Theft isn't limited to sticks. One more than one occasion, people have stolen items from the lockerroom (money, credit cards). Hell, once someone even stole a car (took the remote, walked around the parking lot, and clicked until he found a winner).

We'd lock the doors, but our games are often so late, you can't check a key out at the desk, plus, people can get in through the other lockeroom due to the connected bathrooms.

Most of the time this happens if our game is directly following high school hockey. Too many people milling around to watch who's coming and going through the locker room.

Someone did catch a young kid (I'd guess freshman) in the locker room when he shouldn't have been. It was pretty ugly. I'm quite sure it left an impression (probably about a size 12 impression) on him.....

You should have a team valuables bag. You pass it around the room and everyone tosses wallets and keys into it, then you bring it out to the bench with you. It can save a lot of headaches.

i take out the butt end and spray paint just the part that goes into the shaft black. and i usually black the nameplate, and write #9 on the knob.

I don't use butt ends, so I take a key and saw off a little ridge on the inside of the butt ends of my sticks.
