My New Stick!

Recommended Posts

First off I apologize for taking up band width, but I just have to crow a little bit. I just got a new Stealth, in fact it's my first. I got it from my hockey coach kinda as a graduation present, in next "semester's" skate school I will be moving up from learning to skate (hockey 1-2) to playing with a puck (hockey 3-4). My coach was able to get a Stealth at a discount and sold it to me for $100.

Thanks for sharing. Does this belong in Miscellaneous Discussions?

One of the Mods moved it here from General Hockey Discussion so I guess it must belong here.

As far as being one of the worst sticks to learn on I was wondering how so? Just curious.

what cavs is saying is that the stealth is a decent stick. but for a beiginner, thats not the case, because it doesnt have good feel for the puck and its too light.I would reccomend using any wood stick, so you can have a good feel for the puck as well as strengthening your rists because you are using a heavier stick.

Ahh. I see. I was just curious. I noticed that when I used it last night during practice it seemed that I could feel the puck better on the Stealth than on my other stick. I just don't look forward to when it eventually breaks and I either have to explain to my wife why I need to spend $200 on a new stick or use something a bit more affordable.

"It doesn't have good feel for the puck," is entirely PP. What he was saying is that you need to be able to cushion the puck when stickhandling and receiving passes, but with the Stealth's very hot blade face, your development will be hindered. It's like giving a 35 handicapper a set of blades, it won't work for them, the stick needs to work with you.
