Breakaway Dry Spell ?

When on a breakaway when is a goalie considered out or when is he deep? What is the goalies position when the puck sees the most net? How far a way from the goalie do you start your deke how far away is the ideal shot.. My breakaways are in a dry spell something awful!

I searched but couldn't find anything to do specifically with goalie positioning.

Dont worry about it champ, it happens to all of us. I didn't score on 5 breakaways yesterday at 3 on 3, and hit 5 posts! In my actual game I hit 2 posts..

It really depends how far out the goalie is, they start at hashmarks, back into the net, its best to snipe right there. Make sure that you don't have the blade too open, then the goalie knows youre going to shoot. If it is too closed he knows your going to deke. It really depends on what is happening in the goalies head. Make sure you keep on pullin out new dangles and youll break out of it

Maybe your dekes do not look convincing enough, or maybe you need a few new tricks. There have to be around 100 different dekes to try.

Don't think about any of the questions you asked and you will start burying them, guaranteed. Breakaways are basically improv.

i hate when i do that ,no matter what i just keep screwing up on breakway. what i do now is i just....know im gonna score and usually i end up making a little fake move and just giver and it usually slips under the goalie. or i just deke like crazy from post to post and outta nowhere shoot really hard low ,that one works well

i fcuk'd 3 breakways this pass sunday and i blame it on my reebok stick..i want my pm9 back but seriously i havent adjusted to this new stick...using the datsyuk curve

If I miss on a breakaway one game, and get a second opportunity that same game I'll always just shoot. Making a move puts too many things into question, and there are too many ways you can screw up. By shooting you leave it up to the goalie to make the save. I don't go Reichel-style with a slapshot, but I'll take a snapshot from the bottom of the circles.

for me it really just depends on where the goalie is and what hes doing. i like to go 5 hole if they leave it wide open, or just a simple little deke. if you do to much the more chances you have at messing it up. haha :D

I got robbed on a break in my game last night. I did a head fake and went to the back hand, the goaltender fully extended himself and got his toe on it. That goal would have given me the hat trick.
