Whats your budget? Have you tried them on? are you still growing? Why not go for an upper level closeout, like the V-12? How long are you hoping they will last?

Demo them then, see if they fit your foot, demo as many as possible and try all brands on. Then look for whats in your price range and talk to the people around you. I find that second in line products have been every bit as good as the top of the line, down a touch quicker. I am basing mine on Bauer Supreme, CCM Tacks and Mission Fly models.

i demo the flexlite...and was thinking about getting the Flexlite10...for 200$ less (CND Found), they are not much difference

the tongue is the same, the outsole, the design...a BIT(if not the same) stiffness, if i'm not mistaken...Flelxite have perf blade and F10 don't...

i don't know for you and your price...but in canada, for 350CND F10 are way to go!

if you are a player that skates alot and puts alot of hours on your skates, the v-12's will most likley not make it through 2 years. i had a pair and they only lasted me about a year and a half of skating 3-5 times a week. other than that, they are a great skate. i would either demo the flexlight or at least wait a few more months to see what the durability is like on them. i dont think it will be that good, because of the previous models, but who knows, nike/bauer may have taken care of that issue.

good luck

I have used the flexlights and was inforemed by the bauer rep there (this is gonna blow your minds) that the Flexlight 12's and 10's are both lighter than the vapor XXX so they are the two lighteset skates on the market!!! Also the flexlights felt great on my feet and skating in them was like there was nothing on my feet. Definatley my next skate.

Edit: Any questins you need ask me them in this post.

Actually they are not lighter.

I think that it was at one point (my rep said the same thing, but this was back in December) but I've seen the official weights from BNH and the XXX is lighter by a few grams.

I haven't had a chance to try these on yet, but what is the general consensus of fit to foot type. IE: Do these fit a flat, narrow heel, wideforefoot, or what foot type do they fit?

Thanks,

Can someone tell me why the wholesale and msrp is lower on the Flexlite 12s compared to other top of the line skates?

Aren't the Synergy 1300 also lighter than the XXXs?

When you take out the insole it's considerably lighter.

what is the problem with the insole??

In my opinions, it only a little piece of ''some-type of foam'' !!!

I can verify this later, but I believe it's because they're made overseas. Same goes for the Bauer 8090, IMO it's a better quality skate than any Vapor, but comes in about $100USD cheaper than a Vapor XXX.

I was extremely dissapointed with the fit of the flexlites! I have gone through two pairs(actually 4 if you count the defective pairs) of Quest 1 over the past 4 years.

I have tried the V12's & fit was ok, but they increased the volume in the mid foot and heel slighty, so I decide to wait for the Flexlites. The New Nike Skate fits more like the Bauer 8090 in the toe cap which is too narrow for me. Quest 1's I wear a size 8d FEELS AS THOUGH IT WAS CUSTOM MADE. The 8090 & flexlite 7d is tooooo narrow in the toe box. I have not tried a EE, but affraid the heel would be too wide. I wish Nike would have stayed with the wide toe box on the new model.

JR, Chad, anbody have any suggestions......narrow heel, high arch wide toe box.

I wish I could get a new version of the Quest 1 sizing in a Bauer or Nike?

Yes, the Flexlite doesn't have the clown boot toe caps from previous Nike skates. However, based on your foot shape, it looks like Nike is your skate.

I agree, when i was wearing the flexlights i have a wide foot and the flexlights felt great except for a small blister i got around my left large toe. i think this may have been the fact that i was wearing 8d and i usually wear 8ee so even though these skates are vary wide at the arch (correct placement?) they are wayyy to narrow at the forefoot/toes.

Not to hijack this thread, but are the Flexlite and Vapour series sized the same (or built on the same lasts)?

Also, I assume it's possible to order the Flexlites are boot only, but does anybody know what the price differential is and the wait time for such and order?
