Easton Synergy 900 input

Recommended Posts

I tried on a pair of the new easton synergy 900's and they were really comfortable, light, and cool looking. is any one using these skates? i need some opinions on them like how durable they are and such. also how are easton blades? they are the razor 2 blades. how will they compare to the mission pitch blades? just put input on them so i can see what others think before i buy.

Yeah they have been out a while, my shop has had them for 2 months now. My Friend got them from my shop. He said They are one of the most comfortable skates he's ever tried on.....he also said that the response was better than his old Vapor X's. The steel on the missions is better than eastons. The blade holder is really a personal preferance and I love the Razor Bladz holders on my 04' Airs (one of the only ones I think). The pitch is hard to say because the mission pitch has 3 different settings, I'm not quite which one would be easton, maybe the nuetral one? My friend also said that the baking helped but there is about 3 more skates with minimal pain before they are totally broken in.

i had mission s300's before and the eastons are a better fit, lighter, and a lot stiffer boot/tounge. i never tryed on the L4 or seen them in person, but from what i experienced from mission in the past, i think the eastons are much better. i repeat, I NEVER SEEN/ TRIED ON THE L4's OR ANY L SERIES SKATE, SO IM GOING BY THE INTERNET.

Go with the best fitting boot for you. I love my Eastons, and never have tried the Missions. The L4 do come with a free Z-1 stick as well, so that may nudge your buying. I wouldn't ever buy skates online from a store, especially if they are your main playing skates. You can't get fitted, you can't get the free heat molding and you can't get the free sharpening like you be able to with your LHS.

Easton is a great company- but Mission seems to be pushing the button with innovative new ideas... Also it has the Pitch holder.. My skates now have a neutral - backward even pitch i would like a more aggresive forward pitch style. Easton should have incorportaed something like that on there new synergy line.

ya ya ya ya

P.S the L4's come with the L2 stick

im assuming you bought the missions because you cant bake the synergys

nope i got the synergy 900's and got them baked. the guy who baked them said just to watch the composite part of the skate cuz it was really hot.

edit- only the 1300's cant be heat molded

today i skated with them and WOW! coming from mission S300's, the 900's are ligher by far. i took a slapper to the side of the ankle and the protection is superior. if i took that shot with my mission OUCH! they are a lot stiffer than the S300's, to I personally like that. i just feel more secure in them. I EXPERIENCED NO PAIN AT ALL! i wore these for two days prior to skating on the ice with them. each day i sat/walked a little with them for about an hour and a half. the baking of the skates helped a lot also. the liner inside the skate soaked up a lot of sweat and was really dry when i took them off. the razor 2's are pretty good. i liked the mission pitch better but the razor 2's are pretty good. the sound is different also. it seems there is no sound. when i skated a few laps i felt like the blades werent digging into the ice. it did take time to get used to. overall I LOVE THESE SKATES. i paid $270 and worth every penny. these skates are the best i had for a while. In the past i had CCM Tacks 952's, Bauer Vapor 15's, Mission S300's and i love the Synergy 900's the most by far.

What is your opinion on the CCM Tacks 952 compared to the Synergy 900?

thanks for giving your input!

Good call on the 900s. They're really becoming popular around here, and everyone who has got them loves them.

Sorry to bump a dead topic, but my brother might be looking at this skates, and I was wondering how they've stood up after two years. We've seen some on clearance, and they seem like a good deal, but I want to make sure they are durable.

He's got big wide thick flippers, so the boot has to be built stiff, and it has to be a good platform for big guys. Will these work? And will they last?

The 900's are a traditionally made skate. The 800C's are made from a one piece composite outsole and quarters combined exactly like the 1500C. I also had a pair of 900's not too long ago and I upgraded to the 1100's. Big mistake. The 900's where much more comfortable and just as responsive. Although I don't mind the 1100's fit the old 900's where absolutely perfect. That's something I will never do again. If you get a great fitting skate don't trade it in for anything, stick with it. Going up to a higher end skate isn't always the smartest move to make.

ive had the 900s since the start of the season, no durability issues at all, still look brand new, one of the most comfortable skates ive owned so far, other than the old z-airs...

dug up an old thread rather than start a new one, i was just looking on hockeymonkey and i noticed that the description for the synergy 900's says it has the coil techknowlogy, i was pretty sure that it didn't. i own a pair and i don't remember reading anything about that when i was buying them. just wanted to point out the error. http://www.hockeymonkey.com/easton-hssynergy900sr.html.
