Fletch

New skates soon.....

Recommended Posts

I have wide feet and I have tried on Vapor XXX's (which didn't feel good at all because of the flatness of my feet). I like the fit of the 8090's.... I have been a Bauer guy all my life, but I am willing to try other brands. I am looking for these three things in this prioritized order -

1. Durability (most important)

2. Lightness

3. Stiffness

4. Price (least important)

Any recommendations would be great, thanks!

Hey Fletch...are these for ice or inline?

If for ice, why not head over to Artesia Ice Arena and try on the Kor Shift 1's? Quinn just got his skates in and we have a Test Drive Program going on over there.

All it costs you is a drive over to the rink to give them a whirl.

the new eastons are really stiff.. durable, and light-weight!! i'm not sure about the synergy 900's, but i know the 1300's are. i tried on a pair and they felt good. just get the wide pair.. go try em out!

I think you should consider our F1's since people say they run a bit wider.

In terms of your criteria, I've been using mine for sixteen months at an average of 3 to 3.5 times per week, and I'd say they have about 90%-95% of their stiffness, which was pretty stiff to begin with. And they're very light.

ive gotta say the 8090 probably best fit for you if your have wide feet and are looking for weight and stiffness. You could always try out the nike flextlite 12 and see how those feel because the fit between the 8090 and flexlite 12 is similar due to the nature that they both have much wider forefoots on them just the 8090 is a deeper fitting skates. if so then you could always try a graf g35 thats a deeper fittng skate or a easton if you could find one z-air comp se or the synergy 1300

Yeah, they're for ice. Quinn? Is that Quinn from Hawk?

And is there a website for those skates?

I'm about to bake a pair for myself. They're a lot stiffer than the S500s I'm used to using.

The Vector Pro seems like what you'd want. Chadd, have you skated kor enough to give a legitament review on them? Any way the Vector pro model is very Durable, light and stiff, most inpart to do with the Metal mesh quater packege. Go see how you'd like the Vectors if it's an option. As for the Eastons they are very good but you may want to look into changing the holders if you like the Pitch by mission.

I walked around in a pair for an hour today. I'm going to swap the steel out of my S500s ang pop them into the Kors and skate before I lay out the cash for them. Even at wholesale, they're expensive.

I've seen a lot of people with lace bite issues from the Vector pros.

So...I finally got to try Kor's yesterday.

All that I can say is that they are different. I felt they were as responsive as my 735's, were lightweight, but the low cut boot made me feel almost unstable. The pitch was too far back, as well. And I had *custom + on them. I would like them if the $ wasn't so high. I wouldn't need to pay 679 for a skate that I don't overly enjoy. Price isn't an issue, but I could find other skates that I like more for that.

I would say that they would fit your foot very well though, Fletch. I have the same foot type and they fit like a glove, just don't give that support that I need.

Edit: I meant to say I had Custom + on them, my bad..

If they had custom+ on them they were likely an older model, the new ones have the pitch holders. The only people I know around here who have had problems with the boot height are the ones who like skating in boots like 7000s that offer no movement at all.

Thanks for the input, guys. Much appreciated.

Has anyone tried out the L7's yet?

I tried the L5s but they were way too narrow in the heel for me. I can get away with a D width S500 but no chance on the L series.
