interesting Hepeler Nemisis's

Recommended Posts

I dropped by my local Sport Chek and noticed that they brought in a whack of blue and white Hespeler Nemisis's (not the blue and grey one's I saw about 6 months ago). They were all labelled between "PRO 1" through to "PRO 16" (there were about 8 different curves). I pulled out the plastic plug at the end and saw "Vapor 15" inside, I took a look in another and it said "Apollo 1". The blades were different composites too. One felt harsh and glassy like the old Bauer Tri flex while others had an Inno weave look. I wonder what's up with that ?

No surprise there. A lot of Hespeler's that sport check sold in the past were repainted seconds or overruns.

Inno-made shafts have code inside the shaft.

What the hell were you doing in canada? Didn't you realize you can only attack show booths for secrets while in Canada? Plus you sound surprised since you've been told this info before?

I didn't really want to start a new topic, but i need some help with my alpha nemesis ops....

did anyone who use it start getting loose pieces of glue stuck in the shaft? after my game today, i could hear rattling in the mid-section of the shaft, i figured it was dried glue, but it sounds like a huge chunk, i think someone has mentioned that these shafts have inserts in them, hopefully its not the inserts coming apart or anything....anyways, my question is, if it is glue, would it be safe for me to heat the middle section of the shaft?

It is probably glue. Its highly unlikely that its one of the inserts. You should be able to figure out if its glue because it would only be able to move in a short area above the top of the blade.

I am confused why you think you should heat the mid-shaft. my recommendation is not to heat that area.

I was actually going to heat the shaft a little bit to melt whatever glue was bouncing around in there, but if its a bad idea to heat that area, then i'll just leave it as it is

I have the same problem with mine, but it definitly sounds much larger than glue. i think the vibe insert may have cracked and gottten loose in the shaft, theres no way there is this much excess glue from an ops

echi, did it get stuck in the mid-section of the shaft? I had rattlingin the top of the shaft before, but it turned out to be glue, and i just melted it so it wouldn't rattle, but you're right, this sounds too large to be loose glue....

The Vybe insert is a very soft and flexible rubber. If the top one broke, it would come all the way to the top of the shaft. If the bottom one broke, it would go all the way to the blade. If it is only in the middle of the shaft, it's most likely something trapped between the two inserts.

thats the thing, the chunk of "stuff" that is rattling is moving up and down the entire shaft, and i was thinking why the vybe insert didnt prevent it from moving up and down the entire stick. so im almost sure its not glue, maybe the insert hardened inside the shaft and makes the rattling noise

Neither of mine hardened in any way and are still soft. I removed them and still have them in a box somewhere in case I want to experiment with them. If I remember correctly, one insert is just above the blade and the other is fairly close to the top of the shaft. Maybe a foot or so from the top?

the rattlely things in my shaft gets trapped between the inserts i'm sure because it would stop about a foot from the top of the shaft and about 5" from the blade....chadd, how were the inserts held in place in the shaft?

Mine appeared to be squeezed down and fit into the shaft and held in place by the pressure of them trying to expand against the shaft walls. I found no adhesives at all in either of mine.
