More popular curve-Modano (Forsberg) or Shanahan?

modano is a lie of 5, not 6.  the curves are pretty much the exact opposite.  Modano/Forsberg is much more popular then Shanny

Correct. Modo - Forsberg is a 5. The key that was incorrect was one Easton used several years ago.

On that point, I was at my LHS last weekend and noticed something weird. I was looking into getting a cheap Modano wood blade to try the curve, so I pick up a "LAMI" (I think) and another labelled "Compostite". I compare the blades and to my surprise, one of them (i think the one labelled composite) had a noticeably lower lie. Is this because one of the blades is just an older version of the pattern left over in the store?

I can't answer your question for sure, but maybe it was just an incosistency in the wood?

Anyhow, you think that's funky? I saw an SL stamped as a Modano, but it totally looked like a Sakic. Either it was a misprint or I need my eyes checked.
