Wow that's nuts! So then, in theory, the worst teams have a 3 to 1 chance over the better teams of getting a good draft position. BUT, they have pretty much an equal chance to other bad teams in drafting high. I guess that "how many times you have picked first" really is the tie breaker. Washington wasn't good, but they got Ovechkin last season, so now they start with 2 balls, where Pitt gets 3 again. I gottya....

I'm not sure of the point of this discussion. I think he will go where ever he is drafted to go. There is a large deal of randomness involved and has nothing to do with what any of us "think."

I think only the team who was awarded the first pick lost the ball. Pitts has 3 balls, but they had the first overall pick via trade a few years ago.

The pressure in Toronto would be amazing. It's almost as bad as sending him to a team like the Penguins who wouldn't pay to put more talent around him.

The pressure in Toronto would be amazing. It's almost as bad as sending him to a team like the Penguins who wouldn't pay to put more talent around him.

He'd have to prove himself very quickly (ask Belfour), but once he did that, he'd never leave.
