Your NHL Teams Rumors

Recommended Posts

Speaking of falling attendance, I still say each team's first home game should be before an empty building.

You are soooo right I agree 110% man!!

A follow up on the Flyers...someone I know at the rink said that Nierdermyer was in Voorhees for 2-3 days...and left it at that. Not sure if he knows someone in the area and stopped in or he was talking about something...Scott Gomez was also in the area...but I can't see how he would be worked into the picture. And from the same guy, he's almost positive JR is staying, just moving to wing.

id love to see neidermayer in orange n black, leclair is as good as gone. but im hoping amonte and roenick stay. we got some decent skill on D but need some experience. and after watching the phantoms all playoffs, i am 100% confident Nittymaki can be a NHL goalie. def drop burke to clear up some salary and keep esche and move nittymaki up. but then again im not clarkey

I love the fan rumors where all of the big names come to their city. Especially Pittsburgh, they barely broke even at $23M and revenue sharing isn't going to help them enough to warrant a $30M team salary

I've heard that Kovalev would comeback with the Pens.

I think Kovy will go to Pittsburgh or stay in Montreal.

Every season ticket holder misses at least one game a year. Why not make a statement with it?

Why not just stop whining about it and go out and support the game? Take the high road, no need to b**** about it any longer. <_<

Simple, they did it in 94 and everyone went right back. That is why they weren't so worried that they worked to avoid it this time. If everyone just goes right back then watch out in 6 years, or 4 if the union decides to strike to reopen negotiations then.

I think I have an even more fitting "tribute".

After the national anthem(s) play, all the fans could remain standing and turn their backs on the ice for the first 3 minutes of the game.

Kind of a "we are here, but all is not forgiven."

Okay...that would send a message. Good luck getting a whole building to do it though.

If you do it for one game then go back for the next 40 home games, it isn't going to be anything other than a pointless gesture. It may make you feel better but really means nothing in the end.

Most, not all. Some people aren't in a position to drop $200 like that. If we can't make it, we sell'em to a few other buyers (we don't scalp) and friends.

Then don't come crying when the same thing happens 4-6 years from now.

Because I did in the first place? Just because you think this is a statement doesn't mean all will agree. I doubt this "display" would stop another lock-out, especially one that all the owners felt was needed. This "stunt" is a kick to a league that is already down. Why bother? You think they aren't worried fans won't come back? Every markert knows there are some die hard fans, but for alot of them they need the fringe fans. A one game "walk-out" doesn't prove or show anything that hasn't already been said or shown numerous times over now.

Sadly, Bure is done. He's going to have another knee reconstruction. In some ways, he's a modern day Bobby Orr. Sad.

Looks like Bertuzzi is getting 10-20 games, we should know by next week.

If I were Bobby Holik, I'd stay away from major purchases for a while. Just a hunch . . .

Canadiens:

Ryder resigned

Theodore resigned

Koivu resigned

Kovalev resigned

Brisebois bought out

Also rumours of Bob Gainey going after Modano

Modano? The Habs are farly deep at center compared to other positons. I think Rebeiro is on his way to be coming a star and don't forget they acquired Radek Bonk. I can't believe they would buy out Brisebois IMO he was there most consistent d-man last year.

With the chunk of cash he's going to get as a buyout, I wouldn't worry.

Bonks likely to play as their 3rd line center and there is talk of Koivu or Ribeiro getting the boot.

Where have you heard these rumours?

No rumors out of Jersey except it's a sure thing Niedermayer wants out of Jersey. He was quoted as saying he'll "entertain" an offer from Lou but all signs point to him signing with another team. Someone at drop in this morning said he knows the Devils owner and said he might go after Holik if he gets bought out. I think Freisen won't be back and hopefully they'll keep Rafalski.

Not a big surprise considering how well they get along. Ribeiro doesn't seem like Bob Gainey's type of player but he's popular locally.
