players not coming back

Yes, they dealt Carney an Cummins to PHX for Kilger. Well I still don´t see why the Hawks made all those crappy trades in the 90´s. Damn it...took them almost 10 years to get back on track......partially that is.

Dumping guys who were going to be free agents that they would have to pay. The funny thing is they made a run at Tkachuk and offered him a bundle the year before they started trading away the team. They were going to put him on a line with Amonte and Roenick.

That makes sense but the other moves they made were´t for the good of the team and guys they paid a lot of bucks after that were not producing like they should.....then again players that were promising were just traded away as well. Anyway...wrong topic. B)

PS: That line would have rocked for sure.

Stevens was never and never will be an embarrasment to the NHL hes one of the best. Hes probably the hardest hitting and knowledgeable defensemen in the NHL.

I'd say he's more of a cheap shot artist that gets away with murder. At best a lot of his hits are borderline.

I don't think you can call him a cheap shot artist. Granted he blindsides or waits for someone to put thier head down, if it's legal... it's legal. I play in a rough league and the fact is that you just gotta keep your head up and dish it back when you have the chance.

Steven's still has plenty of time. Although, he may end up screwed with the new rule changes as he doesn't have a ton of speed to keep up with guys that would be getting a 2-line pass.

If 90% of the other guys in the league hit guys the way Stevens does they would go to the box or be suspended. He gets away with more than just about anyone in the league.

Langs - He gets walked around constantly because he runs out of position to make big hits. I still remember him trash talking the Leafs and picking on buys like Berezin then running away from Tucker and Corson. Thats when I realized how terrible he was. I started watching him, and only him, you saw the glaring errors he made, that were saved by the other D or Brodeur. I can't count how many times DOMI walked around him to come in on Brodeur for a partial break-away. He tried to show how much of a hero he was. The older he gets, the more he tries to do this. It's getting worse and worse and you see it game in and game out.

HockeyChamp - Its not just the hits, which most are charges and elbows, its other little stuff he does. Alot may be boarderline illegal, but he seems to be granted special status for his stuff.

Scott Niedermayer's agent told Lou Lamoriello that they would test free agency. Niedermayer also said that he wanted to play closer to "home" (Cranbrook, BC).
