OPS & Repl. Blade Weights

Recommended Posts

Hey Mods. I know that this was somewhat discussed on the "previous" site, but, maybe we can get a list of weights on OPS and Repl. Blades.

I am sure that we would see the weights fluctuate more on the OPS than the blades.

Just a thought/request. Thanks!

Ahhhhhh...

I had done this over on CB. I had the entire list.

So, think we could do a re-post here?

I don't recall ever seeing the list there, but, I think it could go with the Flex Chart & Pattern DB.

I just weighed a Koho Revolution 4490 and XN10. The weights were 522 and 429 grams, respectively. (and the Koho was the shorter of the two, by about an inch and a half)

Actually, I don't have the info, and since said site is dead, I can't access it.

Maybe I'll reweigh them, I don't have time right now LOL :)

No problem. I think the list will give everyone an idea of what OPS and blades weigh.

I think that we'll find that the blades weigh the same across the board, but, OPS seem to fluctuate quite a bit.

As we know, several reps come by here, and, I am sure there are those "higher ups" in the industry who peek in as well.

What if we were to come up with a standard here?

So, I am proposing the following. Mods, let me know if this is cool. I hope I am not out of line.

OPS

1) WEIGHT OF STICK (without plug)

a. Remove end plug from stick.

b. Measure the stick from the end of the shaft, straight down to where the

measuring tape crosses the end of the blade.

c. Weigh stick on scale, in grams.

d. If it is a Pro Stock/Issued/Used stick, please list the pattern, and if

possible, provide a photo.

e. The listing should be in the following order...OPS NAME / QUOTED

WEIGHT / ACTUAL / LENGTH

Therefore, it would look like this (this is an example; not actual

weights):

EAS SR. SCG Modano 100 RT / 455g / 482g / 57 1/4"

A Pro stick would look like this:

EAS SR. SYNG Modano Pro / 460g / 431g / 57"

Please be sure to note "SR" for a senior stick, "INT" for intermediate, "JR" for a junior.

2) END PLUGS

Most end plugs are between 30g and 37g. Can one of the mods who might

work in a store post a weight on everyone's plugs?

In the event anyone comes across a graphite plug that was made for a

pro, please list the brand, player name, plug length, weight. Please

provide a photo if possible.

Example (this is an example; not actual weights):

BAUER = N/A

CCM = 36g

EASTON = 32g

INNO = N/A

MISSION = 31g

TPS = 33g

TPS BERTUZZI = 42g / 6.5" tapered

3) REPLACEMENT BLADES

a. Take the blade and weigh it on a digital scale on its back, meaning the

backhand of the blade. The weight of the blade should be listed in

grams. Please try and weigh BRAND NEW blades only. If there is tape

on the blade, remove it from the shaft and tell us if it has been used.

b. The listing should be in the following order...REPL. BLADE NAME /

QUOTED WEIGHT / ACTUAL

Therefore, it would look like this (this is an example; not actual

weights):

TPS SR. PTC Morrow RT / 150g / 152g

In the event the blade was used, you would list it like this:

TPS SR. PTC Morrow RT *USED* / 150g / 152g

How about watching your language to start.

It isn't that I have so much free time, but, there is a Flex Chart on the site, as well as a "coming soon" PATTERN DB.

Many come to this site to share knowledge, but more so, because many of us (ranger, mack, lego, and I am sure many others) are gear junkies.

THAT'S WHY!

If it "pisses you off", take your CoreBeam attitude go somewhere else. This isn't that BB.

We may be able to create a simplified version of that but all of that detail may be a bit much.

ljack05, yeah, probably overkill, but, rather have too much info than not enough.

More than anything, I just wanted to get the ball rolling.
