Experience with Creatine

Recommended Posts

Heres my question: Have any of you used Creatine for working out and building up muscle fast? I found some that i could use that my bro used to use and im thinkin about usin it. Now im a big boy 14 yrs old 5'11 210, and im playin both football and hockey this year and need to bulk up. So back to my question, is it safe to use at this age, and if you have how did it work for you?

Theres no need to be taking creatine at 14. You dont have muscle mass, because you probably arent far through puberty.

If you're going to use it, make sure you drink lots and lots of water. It has very ugly side effects on the kids i've seen who dont use it properly.

Just go to the gym and build up you're mass naturally. It might not work nearly as fast, but as long as you dont overwork yourself, you'll be fine.

You're by far the biggest 14 year old that I have heard about in a while and I think becoming even bigger should be on the bottom of you're to do list. Instead maybe just head to the gym for muscle mass and work on quickness/plyo., etc.

i use creatine....im 17 and i dont really see a difference except for the really bad taste of the powder that tastes like sand. He could take creatine. Alot of junior/high school and collage students use them so i wouldnt see a problem with him useing them.

I find it hard to believe he wants to bulk up at 5'11, 210. I'm about those stats, a little older, with similar stats and I want to drop a few. I am hoping the bulk is more for Football than for hockey. I'd suggest dropping some weight, lowering your Body Fat and getting a really nice training regiment and diet, from then, look at your results and consider taking creatine or other sups.

Yes, but it doesn't seem like your ready for it. What's your regiment like? whats your diet like? Can you afford it at 14? Have you talked to a doctor about it? Do you know what foods compliment it well? Do you know how it works? There are alot of questions you should be looking at before taking it. Work on getting into better life habits before looking for outside help.

Why dont you just use other suplaments such as protein shakes ect. Im 6ft, 195+ and 14 too. Ive been lifting in the off season for the last 2 years and this year I started useing protein shakes after lifting every day. I have seen it for myself and been told that its really helped me pack on some muscle. Anyways Im just saying maybe explore some other options for muscle mass gain.

A teammate of mine worked at EAS, so he got us products from their returns. There are some people that don't respond to creatine, and I was one of them -- I actually put on weight after I stopped.

I'd suggest you start a good exercise routine and see how your body responds. You're very large for a 14-year-old and maybe you won't need to take any items that can have detrimental side affects.

Yea I do the protein shakes and what not...but havent been seeing the results I want. Im probably being a little impatient but from what I've read over the internet creatine can be helpful as long as the amounts arent abused. So I think i'll keep going with the protein and maybe talk to others in my class about it.

You want big? We got a kid 250 lbs and hes a freshman! I think our entire O-Line is over 200

You're too young to be taking creatine. Adding too much excess bulk at your age could cause significant health problems as you get older if your bone structure isn't able to handle the extra mass.

if he uses creatine and works out....he wont gaint weight, he'll lose sum if anything. Yea thats why ppl work out to lose weight, they dont just sit around at home and do nuthing right? you kno since all of u think that fat is lighter then muscle? SO IF WE ALL WANNA LOSE WEIGHT LETS SIT AT HOME INFRONT OF THE TV AND DO NOTHING. thats the statment almost all of you guys are sugesting. Hes not gonna get all bulky and stuff at first, he'll lose sum weight while gaining some muscle untill his body cant lose any more weight then starts getting bulky

Muscle weighs three times what fat weighs. If you add more muscle mass, you will get heavier, even if the new muscle is only the same volume as the fat lost. The best solution is to ask a doctor, not guys on a hockey website.

5'11" at 210.. and you're 14?? that's already huge.. why use creatine?? it's unhealthy.. and your business might shrink. haha.. stay away from that crap.. you're already big. if you want to get bigger, do it naturally.. don't turn into a muscle head!!

I think most of us are suggesting that he does his research and realize that before taking Creatine at such a young age (and neglecting the possible side effects), he should try to do some "old fashion" training instead of relying on something artificial (as in a powder, sure its made in the body to some degree) to make himself better.

14 isnt that young to be taking creatine....creatine isnt a "unnatureal" substance, creatine doesnt use the hormons in a persons body to give them muscle, ingesting the certain amount of creatine is like eating red meat and fish, it supplies raw materials for energy, thats all creatine does...gives you energy for an extended period of time...it doesnt make you stronger, or bulkier...and of so far creatine to my knowledge hasnt had any side effects except ppl ingesting too much and other small side effects like cramps ,diariah , ect

so do you think that ppl who drink somthing like poweraid or gatoraid yo dont support them because its the same thing just its not as much as creatine....gator/poweraid give energy and suplies it

Creatine will make you gain weight. My fried used it and he gained at least 12 pounds and he worked out four times a week.Furthermore you will have to drink a couple of liters of water a day as mentioned. At 14 its not worth it.I would lose some pounds and do a normal Gym routine, before risking having health problems when your older.2 of my aunts are nurses and they said creatine was very unhealthy for teenagers, because your body is not fully delveloped(SP?)

I don't think you'll need creatine yet. I hope all that 210 pounds is mostly lean weight. Otherwise you might wanna lose some weight

Ok so I get what your all saying...but my goal isnt to be LAZY its just to explore options. Also once you start working out...you really dont lose weight you replace it with muscle like Chadd said hence muscle weighs more than fat.

Hey lets watch the "man that kids fat at 14" comments eh? :P

First off, im 14 years old 5'7 155 pounds and i want to gain muscle and bulk up also, and i asked someone i knew that used to body build and he recomended creatine so i went to GNC and bought what they said was a good started kit sorta thing and it was a protein powder, vitamins, and CREATINE, the first day i used it i worked out and did stuff at like 6pm and they said you could mix your creatine with your protein powder so i did that and that night i couldnt sleep that night due to the creatine, so after that i took it in the morning only 2 other times then i just sorta quit but in the morning it didnt do that to me (but i have the stuff but have only taken it 3 times) this all occured like 2 weeks ago or sumtin but before i was natural, but im going into 9th grade and want to bulk up for football and hockey i just want to gain like 15 pounds or sumtin, also this brings me to another question, in your opinion whats a good work out to get faster, stronger, (better at hockey) mentally and physically for hockey? so back to the creatine i dont know but after reading some of this i just feel like throwing away the creatine lol, but i dont know along with you guys i dont think that a 5'9 guy that is 210 even needs to gain weight maybe lose weight then build muscle but yah i agree with you theo
