Ipod Nano

Neither the regular, mini, shuffle, or nano are durable. If you drop any one of them, they will break/dent instantly. Electronics and durable should never be used together.

Not arguing with you, but I have fallen full weight onto my mini and it didn't break. I was playing hockey outside and then I biffed huge and had my mini in my hand, and fell down onto it and luckily all I got were a few scratches. Pretty dece if you ask me.

Buuut..who needs a 'durable' mini anyway?

On the subject, my dad bought one 3 days ago, it seems to be pretty killer, and he's got 900 songs on it already. It also looks boss so that's cool too..

Once I was letting my friend look at my songs, and, of course, he dropped it but it was luckily on carpet. I thought that it was OK, but I just looked at it to make sure. I picked it up and it had a little mis-shaped part now on it on the top on the edge. If you look at an iPod Mini from the top, where the colored surface goes around the white stuff on top, the metalish green stuff (mines green) is pushed in a little. Its nothing big, but that was just from dropping it on carpet.

what kind of carpet was it? i'd rather the case get dented (to absorbe the shock) than the hard drive fall apart ;)

i have a question about charging my ipod. when i plug it into my computer, it says "charging charging" etc, but it never stops charging, and the battery picture keeps showing that it's charging. when i unplug it and plug it back in, the screen says "charged' and the battery icon is fixed at full, does anyone know what's going on?

I have the opposite of that problem with mine. I'll let it sit and charge till I get the "charged" screen, then I pull it off the dock and the bastard's at only half-charge.

I was going with the 20 gig also but i never have more than 600 songs on my iPod...so this nano is sweet(especially in black!)...as for durability, c'mon any electronic will dent and scratch if you do stuff like that to it. I think along the lines of durability for the actual inside components, the flash memory is what stands out from others...

that is where your wrong... there is a big difference when it comes to the nano.

So it wont dent? The screen wont crack? It wont chip? Theres no wear and tear?

du·ra·ble Pronunciation Key (dr-bl, dyr-)

adj.

1. Capable of withstanding wear or decay

That certainly does not look durable to me.

It doesn't look durable because they put that thing through hell. I mean, they ran it over with a car, threw it, dropped etc. There's no way it wouldn't look like that.

I'm actually surprised that it held up so well!

I've dropped my 20 gig ipod numerous times on cement when i've been running and its still goin fine. No problems with charging or anything so i'm pretty impressed with the durablity.

I went and checked one out this morning.. Amazing how tiny and fragile it seems, it's almost too small for the average palm.. Seems like a nice little setup, hell of alot smaller than my 40gig Photo!

i am seriously doubting apple's build quality now. it's cool that they've been extremely innovative, but in in the week i've gotten my ipod mini, i've had to get it replaced because the battery died, then i had to get the click wheel fixed because it got stuck (even though i placed it in a completely loose pocket in my backpack). also, i've heard that a lot of imac g5's have had overheating problems, and now this thing with the nano. it's almost like how graf has gone downhill

My friend has a mini and he always some how throws it. Once he was walking to school with me and he slipped on ice and was falling back and through his iPod forward, and it was fine.

I just saw one today in person and they under exagerate (sp?) on the size. It's alot smaller than it looks. I held it and it felt like if I squeezed it too hard it would break. Also, it stratches REALLY easy. My friend got his last night and it already looks twice as bad as my mini which I got in May. Its not like he didn't take care of it because he was very careful about it.

Is it black? I hear black scratches easier than white.
