Gongshow11 1 Report post Posted September 20, 2005 well here it is. for the past week or so i have felt here and there blockages /cramps when i breath on left side of my chest, then if i breath in deeply, the air releases and it a huge relief. however last night after my 2nd game, i drank water and the pain came back, and still hasnt gone away up until today. another note is that i take creatine which requires lots of water, btu the last 2 times i took it, i didnt drink as much water as needed. the pain only occurs when i take in deep breaths, cough, or laugh, but the pain is not so bad wher ei cant take it, it just hurts. any idea what this is? D3nZ 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2005 That or problems with your upper ribs, that happened to me last year. I got hit and my ribs ended up hitting the end of the boards and I heard a pop. Mine was more of a consistant pain, never went away and I was prescribed some Tylenol 3. But like he said, probably just cartillage.
alex 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2005 when i first hear chest pain...i think angina...do your ribs hurt, or does it come from underneathhow old are you, what's your cardiac history, do you have a high blood pressure, does your family (parents) have any history of cardiac problems, where u hit there with a puck or what, when does it come on (ie. at time of exertion?), on a scale of 1-10 how bad does it hurt, is it a general pain or can u pinpoint it, does the pain radiate down your left arm/to your back? beaucoup_fish 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2005 Why do people post medical questions on the board and wait for a response from individuals who are not qualified to assess their injuries? Maybe you guys should think about seeing the man in the white coat - you know, the guy we call "doctor?"

foppa21 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2005 Not to be a dick, but a non medically trained person is nowhere near as qualified as a nurse. I mean, do you want just any Johnny on the spot inserting your catheter? ;)

stock07 1 Report post Posted October 4, 2005 Im a nationally registered paramedic ...I would agree not to take medical advice from non professionals even though it is in good intentions...Pulled muscles in the chest and rib areas do tend to give off some of the same signs as cardiac trouble as well as respitory problems...Pulled and strained muscles in these areas are common to hockey players and athletes in general where your body is being twisted and hit from diffrent directions...The best advice is to see a doctor if you have any funny symptoms that remotelly feel like they could be in your chest or rib areas that last for more than a couple days....good luck and glad your feeling better
