who was it that had that huge hit??? i think it was #37 and was it on iginla or was he just standing up for his teamate? that was one of the sickest hits ever! Lindros is lucky he didnt get hit like that or hed be 2 steps closer to being a vegetable

Ruutu on Byron Ritchie. Iginla was just standing up for him and got 2 mins for Unsportsmanlike Conduct.

i am a canucks fan, and although the hit looks legal, i would say that was a bad hit as roots shouldn't have done that, maybe career ending....

a person on the canucks forums apparently personally knows Byron and his family and he said they're going to be alright. Nothing like Bertuzzi's hits on Jackman though

The hit was absolutely clean, as you said yourself. Why should he not have done it then? Ruutu executed what was as close to a perfect and clean hit as is possible. I hope Richie is ok, but there shouldn't even be any question as to whether or not Ruutu is at fault here.
