So, this guy I work with...big hockey fan. Takes his kids to lots of games. He's got sticks from a bunch of the Bulldogs in the last few years...

But here's the topper. They go to the Buffalo/Ottawa game the other night...kid comes out with a Heatley Stealth. Game Used...barely a mark on it.

I keep asking him to hook me up with a Stick...maybe this year. I mean, I'd do it myslef, but standing at the bench after the game asking the players for a stick is cute when you 10-11...when your 29...Less cute <_<

Wow, he is some lucky. Lol yes, when Rimouski played here in Halifax, game 4, I saw this kid must of been about 10-11 aswell get a CCM Vector v130 from i forget who, so i was going to try to get one from one of the boys down there but i figured they wouldnt give me one, so i just left.

Before we get ice in the winter we practice at the local college arena, and we became good friends with the rink manager, so he would hook us up with the broken sticks. So right when the grip lites and ultra lites came out our entire squirt team had broken in half grip lites lol it was pretty sweet. Even now when im a bantam I still get the ops that have the blade broken off of em and use em lol. My brother is 5 and already has a vector, vapor xx, and a synergy lol all from the college. So it's awesome.

For the old its best to make friends with the rinks store manager. They usually have access to tons of stuff they typically keep quite about.

You can usually get good deals ... hey its not free but its better than asking a guy younger than you for stick! :)

when team canada practice here, after ward while standing for autographs a little kid maybe 9 or 10 came with a heatley stealth it was broken at the blade but that would of made a prefect shaft for me, the kid say heatley just handed it to him.

I thought there was a reason for my son. :D He is only 1 when he turns 3 by the bench we will go.

Lol....I used to do that alot when I was younger. There´s some great stories I got in mind. There was one guy who came over from the Canada to play on our senior team and that year they made player cards for tge first time in Germany. he was so mad to get as many of his cards and send them over to his buddies or whatever. He said he would trade me a stick for every 5 of his cards I could get. So I went and traded for every copy I could find back at school or at the rink. I ended up having 12 of his sticks :) The other cool thing was when we had some sort of two-day tournament at our rink. There was Sparta Prague, a team from Japan called the Nippon Paper Cranes and the other was Spartak Moscow and a club from Sweden which I don´t remeber. The first day I was walking around the rink when the linesman threw a broken stick over the glass and almost hit me with it. I usually never went for these unlike the kids that didn´t play themselves. But in that case I was a little surprised and out of pure reaction I grabbed it. I´m glad I did cause it was an like new Easton A/C (the gold and black one) which pretty much was the coolest stick back then (besides the Fontaine´s maybe )I saw that only the blade broke and it was from one of the czech guys so I was thinking that I might better bring it back to their bench. I did that but the guy just told me to keep it....good day for me. The second day was weird. The Japanes team got killed by the swedes but after the game they all came out and gave away their stick, pins, pennants and poster to the few people waiting at their bus. Pretty cool. They all had their on patterns and even custom painted Koho sticks I remember which had their team name and logo on them as well as beeing in their teams color. I got one from Mr. "Sugisawa" :) He had a nice mid curve....good guy. Crazy memories....that´s why I love hockey.

i've never had chance doing this...i have contact with lecavalier contact but oh well...never get more than signed hocke card by the mail!!! lol

2 year ago our bantam team played at gatineau...and we were at the sens game...when guys intered on the ice we(one by one) asking for stick...one guys said...''oh i'm sorry kid i need it for my game it my lucky tape'' and the other one is chara...he was going to give it...but i don't remember what hapened we couldn't get a hand on it!:S

ya..since some of us know that i dont play midget major :lol:

i was watching one of there games when the stealth was the newest thing..still is like the top of the line stick..anyways this guy was about 6ft4in and somehow the puck hit about three inches below his knob..so i noticed he started using his back up..and after the game i watched them goin to the locker room, and even though they won he threw his stealth against the wall and kicked it..i was guessing that he would put a butt-end in it but i after seeing that he wasnt going to. so all my buddies asked me to go get it..and my dad too...im not good at going up to strangers and talking to them...so i planned it all out..say hi..tell him great game..tell him i play for same organization and in need of stick and that broken stealth would fit me perfectly..i was all pumped to go talk to him....i know its pathetic..and then i chickened out...isnt that horrible....and yes..im straight for those of you with nifty comments (mack) anyways...i thought i would share this amazing story with you and not be ashamed of my lack of .....courage. confidence?
