Your team. Early impressions?

Recommended Posts

Montreal:

Pros: Currently 3-0. What can you say...a great start. The "kids" all look great so far. Higgins, Perezhogin, Plekanec...all off to good starts. Boullion has impressed on D. Markov is taking control offensively. Begin is a sparkplug. Every team needs a guy like him.

Cons: Souray has not looked good so far. Theo has been inconsistant. The big line hasn't gotten much going yet. Koivu/Kovalev need to start scoring, although they are getting assists.

Questions: Zednik got hurt in Game 1...and may lose his #1 line spot to Perezhogin when he returns. That may not be bad thing. That will spread the scoring out even more. Mark Streit is a rookie D-man out of the Swiss league, not sure how much he'll play. If anything happens to Theo, Yann Danis is a rookie, and Huet is out until Nov.

I haven't seen him play this year but Brewer was one of the best up and coming defensemen in the league. Maybe the trade put too much pressure on him.

Maybe that's it since people will see him as "the guy we traded Pronger for." St. Louis is also hurting but still...-5 on Saturday?

I know...he's on my pool team. I think he may have single handedy accounted for my drop from 8th to 13th this weeknd.

Avalanche:

I dont know what it is, but they look low energy. They don't have many scoring threats right now without Hejduk, and Aebi looked uncomfortable in net against the Oilers.

For those rangers fans, any other thoughts on ortmeyer? 1st guy from here (omaha) to make it to the nhl, so I always try to watch how hes doing.

you can tell just by watching him that he plays hard every shift , he hasnt racked up any points yet and only gets about 10 mins a game , but hes a solid 3rd liner that will work his way up

my team is the rangers and coming from the last few seasons i am really impressed with our team , we finally have chemistry on our team instead of all individual talent. we also finally have a decent tender since richter retired. jagr just keeps pulling off amazing moves and has people to back him up. jamie lundmark is also an awesome player whos gonna become a future big name in the nhl. i think we might be playoff material, but only time will tell.

Which would be pure irony since Pronger was known as "the guy we traded Shanny for."

Rausch- Sorry to say I couldn't disagree more w/ Lundmark.

What a disappointment. He didn't even answer the challenge today by better play. He has skills but no heart. No desire. I can't stand a player like that. I gave him the benefit of the doubt many times saying that he has gotten shafted by management, but today really sums it up. He just has no fire inside. And to boot, he is one of the weakest players on the puck I have seen.

Ortmayer played awesome last year mostly due to his heart and desire. This year he looks more human because the Rangers got more players like him. Unfortunately, he made 2 costly mistakes in the first two games.

i like him, but i do agree he has no desire. renney benched him and poti for the devils game any way , people are saying hes trying to keep them healthy for a trade. which is good news because i cant wait until we get rid of poti

The Habs are looking good. They still are having some awful defensive zone breakdowns and Theodore isn't looking all that sharp but 3for3 I can't complain although their in tough this week with back to back with Ottawa and Atlanta then playing the Leafs on Saturday
