1100 vs. Vector

Recommended Posts

I'm down to buyone one of these 2 OPS. Now I am really stuck. I can get them both for a VERY close price, so that's not an option. Curves are 2 that I like, as are flexes 260/reg flex, and Recchi/Mogo curve.. Now, I just need to know peoples personal experiances with the 2. If it helps I am 6 ft. about 175 lbs.

From what I've gathered, the 1100 is the better overall stick but the shot performance of the vector is outstanding. The feel is definately lacking in the vector though.

I'd go with the inno, but that's just my personal preference. I played about 10 hrs with a Vector, did not like it so I sold it. My 1100, however, has come back into my good books over the Novius. Now both my innos are tapered shafts, but I can't imagine any real differences between those and the OPS. I just found you could really control your shots better with the 1100, not to mention better feel of the puck. At a team icetime with only one goalie (other side had to play posts), the shot control was FANTASTIC, and the kick is really smooth on the 1100. You will not be disappointed with it.

Mine's a 220, I'm 6'1, 235lbs.

I would go with the 1100 from what I've heard. A friend of mine has a v110 and rarely uses it. He doesn't like it very much.

I have not used a Innovative 1100 OPS, but I do use an Innovative 1100 shaft with an easton synthesis blade, so I am guessing it is pretty much the same for the most part, but I have also had a vector 110 and I must say that the I love the innovative much more. The Vector had somewhat of a "hallow" feel, it's kind of hard to describe but I didn't like the way it felt.

This hasn't kept me from using one when I do, but with the Vector, I feel that even a stiff is pretty flexy, and it takes a lot out of my shot as opposed to a different brands stiff. I'd take the 1100.

See, right now I have a Synthesis, and I have the hardest shot on my high school team, and one of the hardest in our loop. Will the 1100 take much away from that? Is the Vector's kick much better then the Synthesis' kick?

Dan, from my experience, I get a similar kick with Easton (Synergy 100) and V110 (regular) on slap shots (are you referring to slappers when you're talking about hard shots?). I'm 6 ft, 195 lbs. I have also used the 1100 and True 1, both in a 260 flex. While I find the feel is definitely better with Inno than with Easton and way better than with Vector, slappers are not quite as crisp with Inno. A 220 flex in Inno would likely improve this I guess but i've never tried. All in, I like the Inno for overall play and Easton for winding up. The Vector usually stays at home collecting dust. Just my 2 cents.

I had a V120C, great shot performance but didnt like the curve. Also, it broke after 2 weeks. I traded the replacement for a 1100 and will never used another brand of shafts again

I`ve used both and found the kick on the 1100 lacking, the one on the Novius is far superior, but it did have sweet feel and better balance then the Vector. The Vector has poor feel, but better performance and durability then any Inno, I`ve had mine for 2 plus years, and I broke 2 Innos in 10 months, note they were pro stock Novius.

I find the 1100 had tremendous feel and nice kick, but the Vector had great shot velocity and excellent durability. It'll really depend on what your looking for in it. Also the thin blade may turn some off, but intice others.

Well duribility is a big factor, as is feel and shot kick is huge also. I'm primarily a offensive defenceman, but play offence as well. Also weight will come into play. I know nethier the Vector or the 1100 are the lightest of sticks, but which one is lighter/better balanced. Also what are the draw backs of the ABS blade or the Vector?

The ABS blade on mine went soft after a few weeks. Not noticeable but it didnt have as much pop anymore. Also, im comparing both a v120 and a 1100 w/ inno blade right now and the inno is lighter by maybe 20-30 grams.

So the ABS blades go soft, thats it? I hate decisions like this. I am really drawn towards the Vector because of the duribility and shooting power, but I am equally drawn to the 1100 because of the feel and weight. Anyone who has used both and can tell me the pros and cons of both of them a PM or post would be greatly appreciated.

If you scroll up and look, I posted my comparison. I didn`t find the ABS to get soft over time.

For me they havnt really gone completely soft. It's just that they werent as stiff as graphite blades and it makes a difference on shots.
