troybruins89 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2005 Has anyone had any experience or seen any connection between burnt CDs and their CD player not working? There may be nothing here, but my portable player stopped reading discs the other day. It just says there is no disc in it. Didnt seem like to much of a big deal untill my brother's player that I "borrowed" did the same thing. Both within a week or 2. The only thing I can think of is that the burnt CD's Im always listening to might have something to do with it...?
mack 44 Report post Posted November 10, 2005 Maybe you're using the wrong type of CDs? Sometimes shit happens though. I had a spindle of Memorex colour CDs and one certain colour would not be id'd by my drive, but the others were. Then last night I was burning one and forgot to put in a CD and iTunes started burning it and all I heard was grinding in my computer, but it still played the CD i eventually burned. beaucoup_fish 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2005 This has happened to me before as well, but I was using legit CDs. That was about 8 years ago, and my minsystem has just been collecting dust since then. It may be a problem with the laser alignment, and if you take it into a good repair shop, they can tell you what the problem is and give you an estimate - but be warned, it probably isn't cheap to fix. That being said, it also happened to me when I was listening to burned CDs - I don't know if it was the cause, but something fucked up the deck in my car...coincidence? Maybe, maybe not.
Drewhunz 3 Report post Posted November 11, 2005 Do you put stickers on the CD's. If so the CD's are throwing the player itself out of balance thus killing your players.

On the topic of ipods anyone have any suggestions on what model to get? 2 GB Nano, 6 GB, all that jazz.. 5G Video Ipod. Thinner, better battery life, video capabilities. Just wait till some decent cases come out as they scratch as easily as the nano. Im getting the 5G for christmas. Check out iLounge for more information..its a great site all about ipods. beaucoup_fish 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2005 Depends how much money you want to spend. I have a mini, and I love it. I have no fear of squashing the thing, unlike the nano...if you do have the $ to throw away tho, I'm going to say go with the Video as well...then you can watch smut on the bus, while you're stuck b/w the old lady and the 6 year old girl. That is ace.
troybruins89 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2005 What about the PSP? Anyone try both and like the PSP better? Roughly how many songs can the PSP hold? ....If its easy to take songs on and off I might as well spend less and be able to play games and full-length movies. Im not to much of a tech guy so I'm gonna end up getting something I dont want if i dont ask a few questions.

Well is depends, for me Im going with the iPod cause I need lots of room for music, the video is a bonus. If you need it for music go for the ipod, if games and movies are your priority go with the PSP. IMO I wouldnt go for a PSP for a music player, I only think of it as a bonus.
