Under armour socks

Recommended Posts

Why would you want a padded footbed on your sock ? You're not running on your skates.

I've never used the Under Armour socks, so I'm only referring to our CoolFeel socks.

Maybe "effectively padded" might be a better description. What I mean by that is the soles have the thickness of cotton socks, while the tops are like thin dress socks and the legs are thin with compression. So "padding" might be slightly innaccurate, but the effect is they feel padded as compared to dress socks -- or thinner for those who wear cotton socks.

The Salming socks are very nice. Jason gave me a pair to try (didn't know he even had them available for sale) The rep must be a slacker. :D While I prefer Oxysox for their performance benefits for old guys like me, the Salmings are indeed very comfortable and worth considering. My wife loves the pair Jason gave her at the show and wants me to stock them in the store. Jason, do yuo have them now or are they on the boat?

I have them in stock now, Jimmy.

I know you said the thing you like about the OxySox is the compression on the calves. I find the CoolFeels feel very compressed -- are the OxySox even tighter?

Great, I'll email you tomorrow with an addition to my booking.

The Salmings are tight and feel great. I think they are a nice value for a performance sock. I've used mine about 5 times now, alternating with the OXY's. The moisture wicking is superb and the feel is awesome. I just think for me, the Oxy's have more compression and for an old guy it just gives me more endurance (if that's possible). However, the Salmings should be more than adequate for the younger hockey players who don't need performance enhancements. ;) Plus the retail price is a bit more reasonable than the Oxy's. Both are great socks though. I have had the Nike's and the UA's, as well as the other "skate" socks. The Salmings are way better than them.

I've been wearing my Salming socks with my Fuels when I ref. I need the thicker sock to make up for the wider heel.

I've been using the under armour baseball socks for a month or so. They are pretty good. very very thin on feet top and a little cushioning at the bottom.

Here's another vote for the Salming CoolFeel socks.

I received them yesterday and was able to try out a pair of the long version (TeamSocks). I liked how long they were, as they extended well past my kneecap. The upper portion was nicely tight, but not overbearing. The footbed is VERY padded and comfortable. I loved that. The wicking ability was top notch as I noticed once I took off all my gear after the game. So pretty much these things worked as advertised. The longer length of the TeamSock allows me to have a layer of SOMETHING between my skin and my gear without having to go the route of a pockskin undergarment or something. My jock extdended to just about where the socks stopped, so I was practically insulated away from my nasty gear. This is a GOOD thing.

Anyway, thanks again to Jason again for a great product and superb customer service!

Regs,

Jeff
