Whats wrong with the fans at Mellon Arena?

Fleury is old news, they've moved on to the new guy. It's almost like you expect them to be actual hockey fans or something.

It must be tough to be a fan not knowing if your team will be there next year. The best I can relate is when the NBA's Grizzlies were in Vancouver. That was brutal. You only went to a game if you got a free ticket, and even then you didn't care because you knew they were leaving anyway.

I'm cheering for the Pens...I hope they can get it together.

wow, I didnt realise the people who go to the games are that unknowledgeable/passionate about the team.

I guess the true fans all moved out of town and watch on center ice like myself.

I was at the Rangers Pens game last weekend and everyone seated around me was complaining about Thiebault. Maybe the fact that the D gave up 40 some shots and they took a dozen penalties had something to do with the score?

I haven't been there this season but there's usually complaints about whoever is in net. They never seem to notice the 20+ odd man rushes a game.

The Pens have both this year. Terrible goaltending and terrible defense. Either the goalie gives up a softy, or hes hung out to dry by the pathetic defensive play.

oh well, just have to try to watch crosby develop, nothing more happening for this team.

i was under the impression that tbo and caron were solid goaltenders, given that a lot of good goalies this year had a few bad goals against

i don't think t-bone ever returned to form after all the injuries. and in my opinion only had one really good year in net. he's been pretty soft all year. caron has definately been the better of the two. he's made a ton of great says (the save in the flyers game being one of the best this year). regardless, the pens d (team d as well) is just aweful. no one skates and there are tons of bad mental errors.

I'll agree with Eazy. I went to the Pens game the 29th and was down at Fleurys end. At times I could see why they would want to keep him down in Wilkes Barre to fine tune some things. The one goal was a monster rebound, but to defend Fleury a little bit, whoemever scored the goal was not tied up by either d-man that were following him down into the slot. However, there were a few times where I caught myself saying in my head "T-Bo would be sprawled out on his stomach kicking his legs up in the air right now" while Fleury was still in his butterfly form taking up as much net as he could. I know I puffed up the Pens in the off season, and they are sucking right now. I think they need to shake it up. Last week Bob Errey (co-announcer) ripped into Gonchar a little bit and said something along the lines of "the big money players need to start playing like big money players." Atleast someone from pitt is starting to say something about the teams lackluster performance. I wouldnt mind seeing them get rid of someone in a salary dump trade so that Fleury can come up, or seeing them do a small scale blockbuster trade (ie, recchi, gonchar, leclair, malone) type trade to stir it up. But, the place went just as crazy when Fleury was introduced at the start of the game as it did when Sidney was introduced. The Pens fans love Fleury. The reaction he got was amazing.
