Z-1

Recommended Posts

Hi, Prhockey

I really like my Z-1! I have the silver one not the new statement series, I couldn't handle the pink!! It has a weird feel to it in my opinon, but you get used to it pretty quick. The durability seems really good, I have had this stick 6-8 weeks now, using it with out tape(on the bottom) on a smooth concrete floor! For me on this floor that is awesome, most other composite heads would only last 2 weeks! The Z-1 is a good inline stick, the Zed core blade is pretty stiff and the shaft feels good, it a little unbalanced but the durability more than makes up for it! I can't wait for the blades to come out next year with the Z-2!

I don't know? I've been using my Z-1 on a smooth concrete floor, so it would depend on how smooth you think the floor is? I normally use normal composite blades and just tape them and put wax on the blade! Your call!

If i was going to use a ops on a concrete floor, i wouldnt put money on it lasting, id go with some woodies of a decent shaft with some of those koho blades that have a plastic inside, add a bit of durability

You mean the 4400 Koho RB's (abs blade), they're great but I heard Koho has been closed by THC (website too) so they will be discontinued

Anybody have a suggestion for a really good performing abs blade (play outdoors), maybe the CCM v60 ?

The concrete surface is similar in smoothness to a tennsi court, if anything its a little smother. Would you still stay away from using your z-1? I plan on doing a bunch of dryland stuff after christmass. (Sean Skinner stickhandling videos) and I want to closely replicate on dryland to what equipment I actually use on the rink. (I use hex-1, L-2, M-1 and Synergy SL on the rink)

Should I get the Z-1 or wait until the new line of missons comes out this spring?

Why wait? Get the Z1 and enjoy it now. If you always wait for something new to come out you'll never get a chance to use any stick.

Again it depends on how smooth a typical tenis court is? When I stick handle on the tenis court( kinda rough) by me I use an abs blade! Next year mission have got the Z-2(Z-1 tapered combo) coming out so waiting won't make a difference, just get a Z-1 use it, when the blade craps out cut it and buy a new Z-2 blade and you have a Z-2!
