They replaced Ellison and Chouinard with Josh Gratton and Ryan Ready. I'm not sure why either.

And now Richards has a concussion and Carter had his ear Holyfielded.

I'm pretty sure he's who the Flyers got in return for Sharp.

They wanted more muscle for Van. Also it was a salary move, but really how close to the cap are they if they are switching a guy that makes 600 for a guy that makes 475?? I think he'll play tomorrow for the Phantoms and then back to the Flyers by the weekend.

Chadd you couldn't be more right.....it sucks going from a team that overplayed you to a team that can't really fit you in....... he's not exactly pumped about things at the moment.

Welcome to the new NHL.

Edit: I wouldn't be surprised if he was moved if they want to keep him down. He has pride and wants to play.

There was speculation today that Esche reinjured his groin. The Flyers need to do something. Soon enough, the Phantoms won't have enough players to even play, and the current Flyers team is looking awfully similar to the Phantoms. It's getting ridiculous. Do you think the trainer Jimmy McCrossin could have anything to do with all the injuries coming about? Wrong diagnosis? Not enough time off?

But that was a really nasty hit Richards took...

As of 12/16/05...the Flyers Injured List now stands at:

Robert Esche - Day To Day - Groin Pull

Mike Richards - TBD - Concussion, will be reevaluated

Donald Brashear - Day To Day - Left Shoulder Strain

Turner Stevenson - Day To Day - Hip flexor

Simon Gagne - Two-to-four weeks (Dec 9) - Right Groin Strain

Eric Desjardins - 8-10 Weeks from 12/7 - Dislocated Right Shoulder

Joni Pitkanen - 4-6 weeks (Dec. 5) - Athletic Pubalgia

Brian Savage - Out indefinitely (Nov. 19) - Sprained Right MCL

Keith Primeau - Indefinitely - Concussion

I thought Richards got the better of the hit (because he wasn't the one whose face hit the boards), but hitting the back of his head isn't good.

You can't blame the trainer for concussions, wrists, and shoulders. I'm not even sure you can blame him for the sports hernia's either. I was attributing the groin pulls to the time off, but you never know.

I know you cannot blame the trainer, but what about the diagnosis' for them? Do you think he was too leanient (sp), and the players weren't out long enough? Look at Esche, he was supposed to be out much longer than he was sidelined for, and Brian Savage hurt his knee pretty badly, twice this season. Although the good news now is the Stevenson and Savage are skating hard with the team, and are supposed to return to the lineup on Saturday.

The organization has a history of pushing players to return from injuries. I don't think you can pin it on the trainer as much as the overall organizational attitude.
