Strange Goal

Did anyone see this goal. One of the Avs players lifted up the net about an inch off of the ice, and the puck went. The funny thing is that they didn't review until it was too late to call it back

I think that there are many factors into whether or not a goal will be disallowed when the net pops off. I think some of the factors are: which team knocked the net off, was it intentional or conincidental, did the net come off the morings completely or just pop up, how high did the net pop off, if the net didn't pop off - would the puck have gone into the net.

I don't think it's as simple as the net popping off automatically equals no-goal.

This is just based on what I've seen in the past.

LOL! Forget my previous post...I didn't see the video. That puck went under the net! Umm, as far as I know there are no rules for pucks going in under the net, other than that it's NO GOAL EVERYTIME. Refs blew it, Min got screwed.

I was watching that game live on HDNet. I must have replayed that goal 5 times (I have a DVR) before I figured out how it went in. The announcers didn't figure it out until the end of the intermission. Poor Roloson was baffled as to how it went in, but even he didn't suspect that. Not a single person gave the refs a reason to think it was a no goal, nobody was protesting, so you can't realy blame the refs fo not reviewing. You do have to wonder why the ref behind the net didn't see that.

Too, bad though. Minn could've walked outta that game with at least a point.
