Hey guys I just picked up the EA sports NHL 2006. Its much better than 2004, the last version I bought but I have a few questions. First, how the heck does the skill stick thing work? I press it and my player will do completly the wrong move for his situation. I'll be in traffic infront of the net and my player will try to do some crazy deke and get leveled. Sometimes it works and he'll put the stick between his legs and shoot or do like a pull and shoot, but other times it sucks. Do different players do different moves depeneding on which way you move the analog stick? Is there other button combinations to press while moving the stick to do different moves? Can you do the michigan move, and is it possible to flip the puck over the net from behind and have another player bat it out of mid air like in the opening video?

Whats the best strategy for dynasty? I'm playin as the pens and it says the objecive is get the first overall pick, but if i do better and reach the playoffs is that bad? Are there any players in the Elite leagues that are in the NHL now that I can move to NHL team rosters?

Edit: I have a PS2. One other thing, hows come the created players have to have one of those gay ass names, instead of a real NHL name thats already in the game, like I could use John Grahame 's last name for my created guy but no, I have to call him zippy or lefty, or big foot.

There are many names programmed into the game. John Grahame's created player name would probably be "John".

all the players to the same moves it just depends which direction you pull the analog stick, practice in free for all to learn them, also there are moves that will very depanding if your player is on his forehand or backhand.

in front of the net, if you hit the L1 and the analog skill stick it will do a sort of baseball shot, it's quite effective from my expierence.

Yes,can do the michigan move and the bat in in front of the net to do the michagan move go behind the net on your backhand and press L1 and the skillstick and it will do the michagan move to do the bat-in do the same but on the players forehand.

As far as i know you can't change your objective

Henrick Lundquivist(spell.??) is the only player that i know is in an elite league but i'm sure there are some others also

Thanks for the replies. As far as the name, I know there are all the players names programmed in, and in past years I could use Grahame as my created players play by play name (my last name is Graham) and it was really nice cause it sounds like its spelled and it all works out. I can't find out how to do that in this years game, the list to choose from isn't any of the NHL'ers names, they're all gay things like lefty or bigboy or stupid retarded things like that.

Not sure if it was answered but a reason for some players not pulling off the skill stick moves is because they are not star players. A player has to have a star under them to be able to pull them off.

I have the pc version and i can bat the puck in mid air by just pressing the modifier button and the skill stick button.

As far as the objectives given to you in the dynasty mode, you should stick with it... no matter how good you perform thru out the season (get into the playoffs, win the stanley cup etc.) the owner will be disappointed if he wanted you to get the overall draft or have the highest profit in the league and not be able to do it.

If you successfuly complete ur objectives in ur 20 year dynasty, ull recieve a great gift from the team owner.

I'll just trade Mario for whatever team has the number 1 pick's pick. Thats really dumb that they want me to lose on purpose to get the overall pick.

you can turn off the mode where you get fired for not fulfilling your owner's wishes at the beginning when you start your dynasty. Every time I play the Pens I always trade everyone away except Koltsov, Crosby, Gonchar, Tarnsrom and Surovy. Then I rebuild the team :)

Evidently there are teams willing to take the other players, unlike in the NHL.

I traded gonchar for marty st. louis strait up and i traded Thibault for marek zidlicky. roszival and a prospect for JM liles. And what happens if I get fired? does it just end the dynasty and start over again?

You get 3 chances and if you don't get it 3 times then you get firsed and the dynasty ends. THen you need to delete it and completly restart..
