if your looking for weight they are heavier than standard rivets but you dont have to use as many of them if your going to just copper rivets

Anyone who cares about the weight difference between copper and steel rivets is absolutely retarded. What's next, using standard laces because the wax adds an extra gram?

I knew it.... I had it narrowed down to my new insoles, holder heel wedges or rivets as to why I was slow and way out of position this morning... damn those heavy rivets.

If i didn't sweat so much, I would be lighter and faster. If I didn't skate so hard, I wouldn't sweat so much. So...don't skate so hard, be lighter and faster. :D

Fixed.

And the other 395'ers (this weight is before paint too, mind you. And god forbid you tape that, shit man, tape adds weight) include:

TPS Response XN10

Rbk 7k

Another? I'm not sure right now.

I personally once held a Vapor XX full of copper rivets, and YES, the weight difference is very noticable! As stated, if you want only copper rivets, use only 4 at the back, and 4-6 at the front, like the RMS screws on Graf skates.

Also keep in mind that weight does matter, even if we talk about 5-10 grams difference. Every year, everyone waits to see what skate will be the lightest, and sometimes the winning skate is only 5-10 g lighter than the 2nd lightest. And players always end up pointing to a certain skate as the lightest, and don`t care about how much lighter than the 2nd position it is...

I stand by my statement.

In my opinion, lightweight skates do not add noticeable improvement in performance. When I demo'd the Synergy 1300c skates they felt light when holding them in my hand, but when skating in them, they didn't feel any lighter than my Graf 709s or G5s.

As, someone stated in this thread already, some people will make their decision on skates based on weight, even if it is only 10 grams lighter than another model. This is exactly what manufacturers want. They want the customer to believe that the extra few grams will help them skate faster. As a result, people buy into the hype and the manufacturer sells more skates.

Hell, I'll take that bet. Copper rivets are the shiny non-black ones. Will that be cash or check?
